If it's for fun, which to me means unrated, I'll play as I don't plan on getting back to this map for a bit, so I'll just wing it. If not, no problem but I'm out.
Onyx, I think the most we've ever had in an individual tourney was 30 or 31 and that was U.S. I think you'll be waiting awhile to get 32 here.

I prefer playing rated - at least that's what I do by default.
If an opp insists on unrated so be it.
Onyx, I think you should state somewhere what happens if 2 opps don't agree.

Hi
I suppose we have the following rules:
All games open
Games are default unrated, rated if both players wish so
No ties, play again
NC Bot rule (unfortunately the best available)
And an advice to thekid: Play at least ONE rated europe game even if you hate it. Otherwise you are last in the seeding list and this is not really the thing we want here.
I changed the seeding to the europe AND 2 player rankings, so we have numbers above 3000 (both numbers are added).

We are looking for more players. We are recruiting right now, and truly hope to have 32 players by Saturday. my feeling is it is better to have players than to have people get a bye in the first round or second round of loser bracket. So please sign in,

Regeln / Rules
Europa-Turnier / Europe-Tournament
2 Players, Europe Map.
2 Spieler, Europakarte.
It is best of Five (Bo5), after 3 wins proceed to next round. Loser goes down in Loser Bracket. After 2 losses you are out.
Es wird Best of Five gespielt, nach 3 Siegen geht der Gewinner in die nächste Runde. Der Verlierer geht in die Verliererhälfte, nach 2 Matchniederlagen ist das Turnier beendet.
Final: If last player of winner bracket wins final he wins tournament. If he loses final there must be played a second final for real winner (otherwise it is unfair because no other player was out with only one loss!)
Finale: Wenn der letzte Spieler der Gewinnerhälfte das Finale gewinnt, gewinnt er das Turnier. Bei einer Niederlage muß ein zweites entscheidendes Finale gespielt werden (wäre sonst unfair, da kein anderer Spieler mit nur einer Niederlage aus dem Turnier ausscheidet!)

Verliererhälfte: Mehr demnächst
Games will be rated if BOTH players agree. Otherwise unrated.
Spiele werden nur gewertet gespielt, wenn beide Spieler dies wünschen. Ansonsten ungewertet.
Ties are not counted, play the game again.
Unentschieden zählen nicht, neues Spiel.
The no bot rule is in effect. Wait for other player, one round bot move is not to avoid. After 4 minutes of waiting leave the game and try a resume within 24 hours. Otherwise win for player who was not botted.
Kommt ein Bot, auf den anderen Spieler warten. Ein Zug des Bots ist nicht zu vermeiden. Nach 4 Minuten warten das Spiel verlassen und innerhalb von 24 Stunden wieder aufnehmen. Wenn dies nicht möglich ist, gewinnt der wartende Spieler dieses Spiel kampflos.
All games are observable.
Alle Spiele müssen beobachtbar sein.

Hi,
I think I will join in this tournament (try to play a little Europe... for very medium results... hmmm  ).
But I'd like to know how the "Loser Bracket" will work (because, there are many many chance for me to be out there after my 1st round  )...
If I lose my 1st round, I will play again at least once. If I lose again, it's over for me, simple. But if I win, what happens ?
And if (by miracle !) I win my 1st round and then lose my 2nd round, what happens ? Am I out (after only 1 lost) ? Or will I play vs a player from the "Loser Bracket" ? And so on for the next rounds...
One last question : when is precisely the deadline for signing up ? Could it be on sunday, please ?
BTW, thanks a lot onyx (and erps to follow) for organizing this tournament

I just don't agree on one point:
the final is only one game.
If the WB loose the "first" game final: it is over.
For sure, the WB loosing the final is "out" with only 1 lost game, but replay the final is not fun at all.
It is a nice tournament system:
Volleytom and the Leleline's, volley ball players, will agree with this Beach Volley Ball system

Hi
Both systems are used worldwide.
I think it is not fair for the WB winner to lose the tournament with ONE loss as all others lose with TWO losses.
The one final system is mainly used in sports with high physical stress and it is assumed that having one or maybe three matches less during a tournament is a big advantage for the WB winner.
But a TTR match is 5 games a week, everybody can play that and having MORE games is an advantage for the LB winner, because europe is seldom played.
I recommend to use the double final system, it is 2 best of five matches. Otherwise we could have the problem, that the WB winner have beaten the LB winner say 3:0 and is losing the final 2:3. Sounds really not fair to me.
Onyx Puffin suggested to schedule the LB with fixed number instead of seeding every round new. In this case consider for seeding that in WB always the lower seeded player loses (in first round 17 to 32, in second round 9 to 16 and so on) and in LB always the best seeded win (so after LB round 1 numbers 17 to 24 met 9 to 16 from top half) and its scheduled like in the WB (9 - 24, 16 - 17).

As usual in europe: No locos -> you lose, Edinburgh-Athina -> you lose

Good luck beating Nando Erps. He really isn't anywhere near as good at what his rating says so you shouldn't have any problems.
He never did manage to grow some man parts and play a best of 11 with me

it's difficult to keep track of matches in this tournament!
would be nice if times of matches are published on Shamogi's site, like in NC.
or, at least, could all use EUROPE or ET plus the 2 players names or something in opening the games so if you are in lobby you can see there is a match on ?!
it brings more life to a tournament if there is public!

I knew you would Erps. I am just surprised that he beat you twice!
But then again he did start all 5 games and perhaps you might have pulled an "erps I did it again!" move in some of those.
You know I love you now and forever Erps. Not in some sissy or german way of course but in a manly american friend way.
I found out Nando has me on his ignore list (guess he got tired of feeling so little and scared everytime he read my challenges) so I can say ANYTHING I WANT! yea!!!!
Not that I have ever NOT said anything I want I guess.
so Can'tdo Rafeal even in your favorite little map and going first everytime you lost to someone ranked lower than you in Europe. hmmmmm. what does that say once again folks???? Yes that is correct Can'tdo's rating is overvalued and bogus.

Hi all!!
Ich werde ebanfalls aus dem Tunier aussteigen, denn wie Nando hier von bestimmten Leuten behandelt wird, ist echt das Allerletzte.
Das Turnier soll Spaß machen, macht es bei dem "Außenspektakel" jedoch nicht.
Nando wird wie der letzte Verbrecher abgestempelt und das ist er nicht!!
Meiner Meinung nach ist Nando einer der besten EU Spieler und gehört zu den TOP 10.
Wie soll er sonst zu solchen guten Platzierungen kommen??
Anmerkung Momentanaufnahme: ALL auf 4 , USA auf 3 , EU auf 1 und 2 Spieler auf 3.
Außerdem ein 6. und ein 2. Platz bei der Deutschen Meisterschaft.
Packt euch mal an eure eigene Nase denn ihr seid auch nichts besseres.
Wie gesagt ich werde aus dem Turnier aussteigen, denn mit bestimmten Leuten muss ich mich nicht abgeben und werde ich auch nicht.
Und @ thekid: sich über jemanden lustigzumachen und dann selber ohne chance so haushoch zu verlieren ist total erbärmlich. In meinen Augen bist du echt ein totaler Spinner, der sich gerade total blamiert hat.
Ich bitte diese Entscheidung zu akzeptieren.
