Increase the difficulty for three players

Greetings!
I'm from a town in the interior of Brazil, and out of me and my two brothers (and my cousin sometimes) is very hard to find someone to play board games.
(I didn't had this problem at the university.)
I wonder if anyone knows any game mode to increase the difficulty with three players, using the Merlin's expansion.
Regards
Paulo

Try pulling "x" number of black cards before starting the game. Let "evil" get a head start.

I have also seen the following suggestions to increase difficulty:
...
2. Limit trading of cards (unless one of the knights is Arthur)
|
Hmm. What is the trading of cards you refer to?
I don't have the rules in front of me but I don't remeber any trading of cards being allowed except by using Arthur's special ability. Have I missed something all along?

At the start of the game you can trade cards with the other knights. You could disallow this, especially if playing solo.
When you win a quest you can divide cards as you see fit between the knights, so you could simply deal them out evenly with out looking at them, or only let one player decide how to distribute the cards. Other times a white card will get cards for the group that can be distributed as you see fit, so you could limit this as well.

"no table talk" is weird, it's a coop game
But I'll try all the others game modes!
Thx all!

Ah okay.
We think of that as putting one card in the middle then and divying them up - we've even had the traitor convince us to let him scoop up all the important cards for a quest, whcih increased the difficulty somewhat.
I don't imagine it would have a huge impact on anything other than a solo game as long as you kept the table-talk to in character stuff.
