When you play a recon card (cards that only order one unit), you get to choose the card you would like to add to your hand.
I think that Air Power targets the first hex you click...

Thanks for the quick response. I can't believe I went through the rules with a fine-tooth comb and didn't read the card thoroughly!

1) Its exaclty as Goeff mentioned.
2) When you plays your Air Power card, you are asked to select units to target. Then the roll will be in order you've selected units. Means first unit selected will be first one against which you/computer will roll the dices. Second unit selected would be second one targeted. Etc.
Good luck and cya on a battlefield.

Actually I don't think it works that way anymore. I think it used to be how it worked, but something changed recently and that doesn't work anymore.
I think the order now follows the letter-number grid pattern. Ie, each hex is assigned a letter and number.
It took me by surprise when I picked the attack order to take advantage of a no-retreat situation, and the attacks came in the wrong order and opened up the path for other units to retreat.
I'll see if I can find an example...

It has seemed to stop working for me as well, but I thought I was just imagining it. Has anybody reported the bug... ?

Someone's trying to put me out of a job!!
If this feature has indeed stopped working, it would be good for someone to report it, just so the crew knows about the issue.
There, see what I just did? I managed to repeat the call for a Bug Report, and keep my job!!

I'm under the impression that it still works for air power cards, but not for recon cards used as air power under blitz.
And I think it has always been like that since I played my first game with blitz in M44OL.

This makes sense since when the Recon-1 card is played, the first hex to be selected MUST be in the section where the Recon-1 card is located. Other hexes may be selected in the adjoining sector. This REQUIREMENT to select the first hex in the Recon-1 area causes this to be the first hex attacked, even if tactically it would be better to attack or strafe in a different order. It seems like the rules enforcement software (requiring hex selection in the Recon-1 sector) is overruling the tactical advantage of the attack sequencing choice we all so dearly desire.
This is definitely a bug. I know the guys at DOW would like this Online Game to play as much like the Board game as possible, so I know they will do what they can to remedy this in the future.

No, even worse: with a recon card, the program does not even attack the units in the order you selected them, but in a seemingly random order.

This is an older thread, but I didn't see it when putting together my M'44 wiki for official scenario errors. I tested it tonight and found the Air Power card and its Counter-Attack seem to be working as it should: the order you select targets are the order they are hit.
However when I tested Axis Air Strikes (Blitz) and Allied Air Strikes (Hill 317) the order is NOT in the order you select. From the Allied side it starts on a row closest to the Axis baseline (Row 9) and ends closest to the Allied baseline (Row 1). When targets are on the same row, it targets Allied Left(A or a) first to Right(M or l).
