Looney / Eric,
I have many plates and none are full! Have spent time on Guam while in the USAF and in the Pacific, count me in, besides with my plates and perhaps Cereal Killers bowls, we won't go hungry!!
Excellent job with your other 2 tourneys and fronts and thanks for all your efforts concerning our playing pleasure!!
Just ask for a beach or 2 for some R & R during and after!
Thinking of WBC, will have to run my plans they my CinC!!

He will be able to choose one unit per scenario. He will decide which unit and in which scenario to place the unit. I like the Pool idea, too. It's really intriguing.
I'd suggest adding the proviso that these extra units must be placed on the back row.

We could expand the Japanese to ski troop badges which would make them more deadly. Early war machine guns can also be used. Any thoughts as to this idea?

OK,
We will use Tank Commanders great idea for a pool of units.
Sam, the extra unit will be placed on the back line.
van Voort, I'm going to test the machine gun badge. If it works it would be early war version.
Snipers and anti-tank units will also be available in the infantry pool.
Flame Thrower tanks do work and we could add those.
Luc, we would only need 1 more player to make it even. Does anyone know someone who would be interested? That would give us 20. We have some time yet. We will not start until after the Eastern Front tournament is over.
By the way, these scenarios that I have, and am working on, will NOT be taking into account these extra units. Again, I am trying to make them as even as possible. The extra unit could sway the battle to one side(especially using the artillery unit).
I am about ready to go into the final testing stage for some of my scenarios. Look for me online to help me tweak them. Especially you Luca as you're not that crazy about some of them. I also have an Imphal/Kohima scenario. Let's you and I look at both of ours and work out one to play.

Thanks everyone for signing up! We now have 20 players. What I will do is divide each side into 10 players each. I will then assign an overall commander. Since Sam and Helcat were the commanders last tournament I will assign new ones for this one. For those of you who are new, you will play only one side throughout the tournament. This makes it a team concept. Back and forth strategy to your fellow teammates is encouraged. Also, the tournament will go a little quicker. There will be ten battles each round with the overall commander deciding who plays who and which pool unit to use. I think we will still do the 2 point player for each round. That will give each round a potential 11 points.
Pool units:
1 regular artillery
2 regular armor
3 infantry, Since special force and engineer infantry do not work online for the Japanese I am limiting the Allies to Special force infantry only. Japanese are allowed a regular infantry unit.
Stay tuned for team rosters.

News from the Pacific Theater Front!!
Since Gheintze and vanVoort have selected teams, we can begin the tournament. vanVoort will set the lineups for the first round. Since some of you did not like the 2 point player, I have eliminated it for this tournament. There will be 10 points possible each round.
Once vanVoort and Gheintze see the scenario, they can let me know if they want to use one of their reserve units.
I have 17 scenarios to choose from at this time. I am finalizing 3 more. Also, Dugrim has requested a scenario to be considered. Since we will only be playing 10, there will be occasions where there will be 2 scenarios posted and one of the commanders will get to choose which one we will play. There will be 2 scenarios posted on the SFTF page this round. Since vanVoort selects the lineups, Gheintze will select which scenario we will play. Reserve units will then be placed, if desired, and the round will begin.
For those of you who are new to my tournaments, I highly recommend you play the scenario a few times before your match. Please read all the rules for each battle. Some of the topography hexes will play differently online than the real board rules. They are spelled out in my descriptions. Also, from time to time, you will see a new unit that you aren't familiar with(elite Japanese marines). (Sometimes the online problems can work for us rather than against us.)Be sure you familiarize yourself on their movement and attack capability. Again, read the scenario thoroughly and practice it before you play your opponent.

Not sure how any other Commanders have done this
Initial indications are that the average rank of our opponents are higher, but that their skill level is inferior
Obviously they have earned their promotions through the drinking of gin and tonics and the playing of polo rather than through the crucible of war.
Their zanshin is clearly weak and we shall prevail
