New Memoir '44 Breakthrough Expansion from Days of Wonder
Features two, double-sided, super-sized board maps for all four Memoir '44 map environments - countryside, beach, winter and desert.
Los Altos, CA; Paris, France - March 16, 2010. Today Days of Wonder announces the Breakthrough Expansion for the Memoir '44 game system. This expansion features not one but two oversized boards 13 x 17 hexes deep - almost twice as large as a standard Memoir '44 board map. It also includes 15, never-in-print-before Breakthrough scenarios.
The Breakthrough Expansion's impressive 9-panel board maps are double-sided, with countryside and beach battlefields on one board, and winter and desert ones on the second. Fifteen remarkable scenarios designed by Jacques "jdRommel" David and Richard Borg himself complete this pack, with classic battles such as Operation Crusader, Operation Amherst and two different renditions of the battle for Sword Beach.
The Memoir '44 Breakthrough Expansion is an expansion for 2 players and requires a copy of Memoir '44. Various expansions, depending on the scenario being played, are highly recommended to fully enjoy this expansion, although players can substitute game pieces if they don't own a specified expansion. It is expected to be available in April in Europe and in May in North America. Retail price is $30/€30.
