I've checked every game store and book/magazine seller in my area, and no one sells this darned magazine! I went on the GTM web site, and I can't see how you can order a single mag; and paying near $60 for a subscription to a mag I've never seen isn't too appealing.
I'll keep looking, but this is just getting annoying.

Whiterook,
Go to the www.gametrademagazine.com website and click on the contacts link. You can email Andrew Smith and ask him if he can tell you what hobby stores in your area carry Game Trade.

Question for DoW:
Is it the same plane in each magazine or are they random?
---------
No, the planes were inserted into the magazine randomly.

Did Paizo say if they shipped out of the US - say to us Europeans ?
|
When you checkout it lets you choose from a list of dozens of countries. Of course, I don't know what the shipping cost is to your country. But as my momma always said, "It can't hurt to try, all they can say is 'No'."

I got my copies of Game Trade today from Paizo, but I got several duplicates. Of the five copies I got 1 Me-109, 1 Corsair and 3 P40s (which I had already gotten from my FLGS). So if anyone has a different assortment and would be willing to trade for a P40, please let me know. Thanks.

eldurand,
I think it is a great idea to have people trading their duplicates. Perhaps this forum thread could be used to facilitate that.
On another note, when did you make your order from Paizo? I made mine on October 29th, which then shipped on November 2nd, but it hasn't arrived at my house yet.

Well, I got my copy of 7 magazines from Paizo today. I got four Me-109's and three Zero's. So if anyone wants to trade I got plenty of each. Just send me a PM.

Man, I know how the Germans felt on D-Day... no Air Support!
I ordered my magazines shortly after MajorOracle posted the Paizo link here. I just got an email from them saying that they still haven't even shipped!
I'm sure if you have any duplicates left by then, I'll be happy to trade with you.. sometime in the new year at this rate.

Through a trade (Thanks Major Oracle!) I got a Zero, and I was able to find another issue of GTM 93 at my FLGS and nabbed a Spitfire. That leaves me looking for the Storch, the P-38 and the Yak. If anyone has extras of any of those and needs a P-40, let me know. I am willing to trade.
(Though I may have to resort to ordering a few more copies of GTM 93 from Paizo!)

Reading some of the replies, some folks scammed lots of issues of the magazine for the free models, so it's not so surprising there are fewer entries than might have been expected.
I'd love to get my hands on an unpainted Fiesler Storch so I can paint it up as a US Army L-5 Observation aircraft.
Kinda late now!

Nothing in the contest rules declaring only the unpainted planes can be entered. IF you have the Air Pack, you have a bunch of planes at your disposal. You can repaint any of those or even 'enhance' them with a cam pattern of your choosing.

I'm with Brummbar, where are all the entries? The Gallary page suggest that there are 32 entries, but there are only pics forr 15 planes. I tried to upload earlier today (a 256K, 128K and 54K JPEG files). I got the OK message after each upload, but none of the pics have materialized on the Gallery page. I hope I did not do something wrong.

Your images did not upload properly. Since you clearly had them ready by the deadline, we'll still allow your entries, especially since we've had some incompatibility problems with certain browsers/machines uploading. Send me your entries via email and I'll upload them. They'll be under my name, but at least you'll be able to see them and they will be entered in the contest.
Signed - The Commissioner

As you are aware the entry deadline for the Air Pack Painting contest has past. Because BaarltheBear had some compatibility issues with our upload software, I uploaded his entry under my name - it's entry number 34.
Thanks to everyone who participated - we've got some great entries. The judges will now get together to pick the winners. The Grand prize winner and the two runners-up will be announced on January 15th, here on the forum as well as the DOW News Blog.
Good luck to all the entrants!

The time stamp is the time where our servers are located (in Europe) and is not updated to the US time zones. All the entries uploaded to the gallery are eligible.

The planes are not all to the same scale, but the vary from 1/283 to 1/340. I measured the ones I had and did some rough math on this thread here:

Hope that helps.

It can become addictive.. with those painted planes, your tanks will soon be screaming at you for color.
Excellent job on your entries (very impressive for your first mini paintings!)
And to everyone, some very nice looking aircraft!

I hear ya! First two miniatures I've ever painted too! I can see what Brummy is saying, this can be addictive!!!!
I'm not sure I'm brave enough to start painting M44 tanks and infantry yet, but I have some Caesar minis waiting for paint...going to finally have real French Resistance fighters rather than Allied soldiers "pretending" to be French Maquis!

Congrats on getting involved in painting. It is a very rewarding part of the hobby. I just got back into it last year after about a 25 year lay off. I'm still working on getting the base set of BattleLore figures painted. I doubt I will tackle the M44 figures.
Good work to all who entered.
