Haven't seen the troll yet, but those adventures will hit the spot. I really like how the goblin forces are being given more command cards (or the potential for more with +1 in the war council levels) to work as a mechanic for greater flexibility through higher numbers of combatants. I've always thought that adventure 4 had it backwards - should be 5 command for the standards and 6 for the pennants Wink

The Watchtower adventures are both the type that I love, but the bash fest of the third one should be a nice change of pace Very Happy

I haven't checked my counts (maybe off by a few spear bearers), but it looks like the third adventure uses every single non-human unit available currently (except that only one creature is out there). An impressive preview of what might be possible with race-specific Deployment decks!

I'm a bit more intrigued, though, by the other two scenarios. Each army controlling two opposite corners of the map, with lots of objectives beyond "Beat the crap out of the other army", or a tiny dwarven force trying to keep a bunch of goblins from rushing past them. Decisions, decisions... (too bad I have to work all weekend and probably won't be able to play either for about a week!)

So, the blog post tells us that there will be Battlelore user pages, and that they are necessary for the Organized play programs that will be run later this summer.

These programs will be where the troll makes its first appearance.

So, there will be a Battlelore release some time this summer, and it will feature the troll.

What do you guys think, will it be the heroes expansion? A creature expansion, or something totally different?

Pure speculation here, but I'm guessing that the Troll will be included in the (much anticipated Very Happy ) Heroes expansion. I wouldn't mind if another couplefew creatures were included as well, not to appear greedy or anything Wink

When are you NOT greedy Todd when it comes to BL ? I think you always want more more more!! <ducks> Twisted Evil

But I suspect that any creatures will be released individually so all in the world can get them probably w/o having to purchase an expansion. Sure it would be nice if more creatures were released with the Heroes (but other than the Troll, nothing new has been shown/released about new creatures, but that could be either due to bad spies or good keeping the info close to the chest [I think it is due to poor spies!] - and really if one has good eyes, one could forsee the troll even in the base set] but I suspect that will be the case for most creatures (with the exception of the Spider being in the base set of course - since obviously need to have 1 creature)

For what it's worth, I'd like to thank the guys at DOW for finally giving us some news and also encourage them to continue. I will die of impatience if we have to wait another six months for another post. Again, thank you!

Oh, and looking at the title of one of the new adventures: Could it be that Mr. Borg is a Battlestar:Galactica fanboy? Smile

Well, I happen to like it, actually. I like the 'fairy-tale' look in opposition to the warhammerish-dark-grim&spooky thing which appears to be all the rave lately.

I still haven't gotten over that first picture of it in that Battlelore Master post from the Raven. That Troll's backside looks like a walrus flossing. I wish they'd given him ripped denim shorts instead of risqué underwear. That thong of his really bums me out.

... Pun intended

Although I like the watchtower - even though we are using the Stronghold for it (not complaining!). Just was hoping that maybe we can get some town action soon, since I find it funny that so far not one town has been involved in any of the "official" adventures so far. ("Look, there's a town over there..let's avoid it fellows!)

I don't get it. World of Warcraft doesn't begin with N.E.W.S.

I think N.E.W.S. is the North East Wargame Society, A Warhammer Ancient site. Matter of fact I'm a member.
