Well, the top 4 matches are complete.
Col Hogan still stands as the top dog. Coltsfan will have the next crack at knocking him off his high perch when we start Round 2 (Sept 26th).
So far no glitches other than JJAZ lost his opponent, but I am working on that.

TC
I'd be happy to play Johan if all else fails.
I'd play as a wild card with the result (for me) not carrying over to the next round - if that helps.

On that note, Allit and I have finished our match. Here are the stats. If need be, I can post the stats for each round, but I don't want to take up too much space. (To clear it up, "Figures eliminated" is the number of figures that that player knocked off; therefore, I knocked off 39 of Allit's figures. I didn't lose 39.)
Dakmor
Medals - 8
Figures eliminated - 39
Alliterato
Medals - 2
Figures eliminated - 25
Long story short, I won.

Hi, Cab --
Current release of Vassal is 3.0.17.
Memoir module version 7.
Air Pack versions of scenarios, though some players might have overlooked the subtle difference in this initial scenario and played the old version. (Col. Hogan pointed out that the Air Pack version of Ste. Mere differs from the original in that one of the town hexes has become a church, allowing the occupant to ignore the first flag.)

|
As to Vassal, you should use the most up to date version. A check of their website will let you know if you have that.
TommieSL noticed that different versions of this scenario (St Mere-Eglise)had been played. We should all play the same versions of each scenario. I think this will be less of an issue as we will be playing the Air Pack revised scenarios from Round 2 on.
As to the rules, consult the various books and check for the FAQs. We will also open a thread for each scenario for any players who might have rules questions on that scenario.

With 2nd game hopefully tomorrow - Sunday 9/14 around noonish ET (or shortly thereafter when Cab wakes up!)
For the record, game could have gone either way if Zasdert did an action against one infantry troop vs another and thus the score would have been 4 (Allied) and 2 (Axis).

I would encourage players to do so.
I would also like to see players save log files of their games. That way, once I get a site setup on Yahoo, these can be stored there. Players then could "see" each game as it unfolds by playing through the log files if they wish.

Game Two :
Caboose (4, winner) - Allied, Zasdert Ultun (1) - Axis
Caboose started with 1 less army due to it arriving on top of an Axis unit (guess no brownie points for doing that feat or damage? <G>) Almost lost 2 others since they were close to being off the board.
Thus net :
Caboose 8, Zasdert Ultun 4

For future reference, did we need to list the # of wounded units and all ? Just wanted to make sure I'm going the reports correctly in the future!
Cab
p.s. Do put those Battle reports in - they do help for other people to see if a scenario is balanced or not. Also note for this particular battle (due to paratroops landing for this scenario) that it was played on Vassal and used those rules.

As to listing figs killed, players need to keep track of them after each game. They are only important if the players are tied in the medal count at the end of the match. If so, then the player that has eliminated the most of his opponents figs has won the match. This is the only time that the figs killed count need be noted.

Thanks TC, since I had seen that in some people's reports. Thus in addition to medal count, we should report the figures - do we need to get real detailed (i.e. 5 infantry, 4 armor) or just the plain # will suffice ?
In regards to reports as well as entering a battle report, was there any ruling as to who should do it ? Not trying to nitpick on something like this, but just was curious since I was gone the last week before the ladder began. Would be nice to have the reports entered in the battle report so everyone gets that info in regards to how balanced or not a scenario is.
Also since we are using Air Pack rules for the next scenario (and probably thereafter), there is something in Air Pack that maybe some folks should be familiar with.
If an airplace is removed due to Air Check, the airplane ONLY counts as medal for the opposite side if there are any enemy units near it.
This is explained pretty well in the Vassal chart button under the Air tab (well good enough to know when a medal is awarded or not).

Just the overall total when needed. So if a player has clearly won on games won or medals won, there is no need to report on the figures killed.

The players of a match can decide between themselves who should do it. Whoever has the time and inclination to do so.
