Negative,
We are still playing.
DOW has not yet pulled the plug on the Vassal Software. Thay will do this when the Memoir '44 Online premiers. This is their right as property owners of the Memoir product.

Eric States:
Quote:

Just to be clear, and as we indicated when we gave our initial authorization for a Vassal version, once Memoir '44 Online 1.0 ships, Memoir play on Vassal will be discontinued.

I personally want to thank DOW for their kindness in allowing us to use their product without charge on Vassal for the last few years. Hip, Hip Hooray!

We will, as many who want to, come over and start playing tournaments on Memoir '44 Online when the Vassal software is no longer available.

Hey, Dave -- Good to hear from you!

Yes, the Ladder is still up. http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Mem44kingladder/

We recently started round 16 (Guam: Japanese Counter-Attack). You can PM Tank Commander about rejoining, if you're interested.

I'm hoping to join up, just havent had a chance recently to get myself organised ...

On the Vassal issue ... It's a shame that DoW are planning to pull there game from Vassal once they have the green light for their own product, I understand it is their right, and that they have been generous to allow Vassal to put their game out there, butfrom what I've read from the Beta testers, DoW's online offering is only going to provide people with the initial scenarios from the base set, whereas almost all the scenarios are available at Vassal.

I understand DoW's product will be far superior in lots of ways, and for this reason I would be signing up for it, but it might be nice for the remaining scenarios to be left on Vassal for when us regulars want to arrange a skirmish beyond the base set.

Does anyone know if this is likely ...?

I'm afraid that's not likely, but you never know. Smile Eventually Memoir '44 Online will include all of the official scenarios and the "expert" mode will allow players to play any battle (including ones people have designed using the Scenario Editor) very much like Vassal...

it'd be awesome if there's an annual official league or online tournament later, organized by DoW Smile
