Grats Bülent, very well played indeed
IMHO, even in a double elimination QT there should be only one game between the winners bracket survivor and the losers bracket winner.
If one loses in the first round of a 16 player double elimination tourney, and then makes it through the losers bracket AND wins one game against the winners bracket survivor, then he is 7:1 in his games, while the winners bracket survivor is only 4:1.
IMHO, this 7:1 is enough to win the tourney and equally diffiucult to a 5:0 through the winners bracket. No need to force him to make it 8:1, while the other only needs 5:1 to win...

GRATS, ALI, GREAT!!!
maybe I had the best chance to eliminate you (at least from the winners bracket), but it was only a tie

Grats Bülent!
I second Angel: winner bracket is the shorter way, loser bracket the long way, thats what you pay for losing and getting a second chance. The final is the final. A "double elimination" in that one final makes absolutely no sense to me. There are many sports with double elimination setups. I have never heared of a loser bracket winner needing to win the final match twice. In my sport where I organize tournaments of all different kind of set ups, a double elimination of 16 players would look like this:
R16 : 8 winners >>A & 8 losers >>B
B : 4 losers >>out & 4 winners >>C
A : 4 winners >> final 8 & 4 losers >>C
C : 4 winners >> final 8 & 4 losers >>out
Final8 is a normal single elim: (A1-C8,A4-C5,A3-C6,A2-C6) losers >>out

Colo, I am trying to figure that out.
Does winner bracket persons lose twice in that?
It is to be double elimination!
"Final 8 is a normal single elim: (A1-C8,A4-C5,A3-C6,A2-C6) losers >>out"
As I see it, A1, A2, A3, & A4, only lose once if they lose at that point. Why is that loss worse than an early loss?
@ Angel: Yes if you lose in first match you have go to 7:1, but the others do not have that necessarily. Example: if you lose last game in winner bracket, then you end up only what when playing winner: 4:1? So that record is the same as the winner bracket if he/she loses.
To me, double elimination means someone has to lose twice (hence word double) to be out of that tournament.
What I don't like about my set-up is that loser of winner bracket final, (before the big final) gets placed too high in loser bracket. But I do not know a way around that. Otherwise someone else gets a free pass in a round.
