Campaign book volume 2 Mon, 26 September 2011 14:05
Seems to cover a wide range of battle-fronts:

- Pacific with a bicycle ride in Malaya
- Eatern with Poland downfall
- Western breakthroughs in Normandy
- and last but not least an enigmatic Air Aces !

A must-buy, it seems !

Delighted to see the Far East covered! I hope they pick up on my suggested rules

http://www.daysofwonder.com/en/msg/?goto=210898#msg_210898

Always good to see the imovable object (B&CF Stiff Upper Lip) against the irresistable force (IJA rules)! Very Happy

And the new Crete mini-campaign as a freebie too? Rolling Eyes

This looks totally awesome. Can't wait to play it. I just ordered my own copy of the Air Pack to make sure to be able to play the Air Aces campaign (on top of using the air rules for the other scenarios).

Did you notice the shipping date? December 7 in the Pacific Theater is a date like August 23 in Battlefield - Hungary!

this is very good news, (im guessing the polish units will be represented by The usa figures like the french are in Vol 1)

Im am a completist and would like to see the french (in a nice bright blue) and polish (in a bright red) have their own figures and badges (same with italians)

Hec when i play overlord market garden im annoyed because I dont have any 82nd badges to place on the 82nd airbourne troops (seems that will change, if enough are provided)

It would be good to see a minors pack made (I know it wont be a meaty expansion with lost of rules but could include some nation rules/abbilities and the unit badges of those armies.

I really like memoir because of the presetation of the game on the table but using other nations figures to represent anothers army dose sit a little funny with me

call me padantic but i like to present the battles correctly on the table.

But still im looking forward to playing the campaigns,

I'd also really like to see Polish, French and italian armies, to name the most important ones. I really dislike playing nations using US or British troops, or in case of the Italians, German troops. I can understand that fewer people would be interested in buying such expansions, but as far as I'm concerned they could raise the prices a little bit or simply make a smaller number.

Of course, the campaign book in itself is great news!

A Breakthrough format campaign = excellent inclusion! Very happy to see that. I know folks like their Overlord, but I much prefer Breakthrough.

Laughing Very Happy In Paris there was a comic shop near where we were staying that had a Voldemort mask! Some players like to wear a World War II helmet to play Memoir...others might like wearing their Voldemort mask! Laughing

Well... he plays it online (not many Death Eaters really want to play f2f with their master). Btw he got the "Star Wars Achievement" when he tried to kill baby Harry.

The Air Aces campaign that requires the Air Pack expansion will be a good opportunity to take that expansion out of the closet, since honestly, I do not really use it when I play the board game.

Do you guys generally use it ?

Agh!

So many scenarios', Smile

so little time...... Crying or Very Sad

Havent got through campaingn book vol 1 yet ( i was a late starter, only got vol 1 three months ago)

Vol 2 looks really cool though.

I'm hoping the Breakthough kit is'nt essential, and two base games will do the trick.

Very, very rarely. I'm not a big fan of the air rules (about the only thing in the entire M44 rules set I'm lukewarm about).

I suspect to play the Breakthrough campaign would probably require the Breakthrough boards.

Two base games are used for Overlord games (not Breakthrough games).

I've used 2 base game boards for a breakthrough board before.

I was wondering if pre-ordering gives any sort of discount or not, because if not i'm just going to wait until I at least get the breakthrough boards.

There may be some deal with the online credits? However my experience in the UK is that DoW pre-orders do not always mean that you get delivery before the product is generally available.

I have not seen anything which mentioned if the Crete mini-campaign would be a bonus with Campaign book vol 2. Did I miss something?
It would also be nice if the strategy guide were available in english before the end of the year. You would not think it would be so challenging to translate.

Looking to get this in my hands. I have preordered.

Does anybody have any thoughts about how the 11 campaigns will be put together into grand campaigns. I am assuming that the 11 campaigns do not have sub campaigns to them. Maybe because they haven't been mentioned there are no grand campaigns.

Any thoughts?
