Official scenarios posted as Expert by JFKoski

I prefer playing official scenarios. Some can be posted Online; more with the Jan 2012 Editor version.
NOTE: I change this thread every week or so, as I change scenario.
AARs: After Action Reports help show the balance for face-to-face scenarios. Until official scenarios have 50, the % is questionable. Please post results of your games at www.daysofwonder.com/memoir44/battles/?id=
where "id=" is followed by the number of the scenario.
RATINGS: Scenarios can be rated 1, 2, or 3 stars after you play it. You can also go to the SFTF page, search for it, then click on the rating to see who has rated it and what the current average is. You can also add a rating with a comment there.
If the average is above 2.5 then it is shown Online with ***. I think if it's below 1.5 then it's shown Online with *. Since there are two rating entries that will lower the average of a 3-star scenario, it's rather hard to keep the average showing 3.
RULES: When making scenarios PLEASE POST ALL THE RULES. I've played a lot of SFTF games where we discovered some rules mid-game. Many official scenarios state "badges are not required". Please put badges on all elite units, since you and your opponent would have to right-click on all units to see if any are elite. And DON'T put badges if it's not elite (unless French Infantry, etc.); it's no fun to move 2 and find you can't attack. Four tanks/elite armor could use the badge too in case of Medics.
FRENCH: If you go to see a replay and don't see a title, chances are it's been posted in another language, but doesn't have a page for yours. For the scenarios I've posted this year, I try to make a French page both for rules, and so the title will appear for all players.
NEW: As of December 21st, DOW has added a number of these scenarios I've posted to the official tab, at a cost of 2 G.I.s. I'll pull the pictures and put a list below. There's still a few that I can post, three with editor/online problems but a couple without.

Previously I've posted these scenarios for our enjoyment in SFTF. Now (Dec 2012) they've posted them in the Official section at a cost of 2 G.I.s:
EASTERN
Russian Breakout, (BARBAROSSA),
Battle of Kalatch, (SETBACK B4 STALINGRAD),
PACIFIC
Bloody Ridge, GUADALCANAL,
Clearing Matanikau River.
MEDITERRANEAN
Mignano Monte Lungo, (AUDIE MURPHY),
WESTERN
[Normandy] Vaumicel Manor,
Carentan (BLOODY GULCH),
Battle for Hill 178 (FRENCH OPEN 2009),
[Normandy] Bretel Wood (FRENCH OPEN 2011),
Forêt d'Ecouves (ECOUVES FOREST, FRENCH OPEN 2012)
Bastogne Corridor West,
Bastogne Corridor East,
Strasbourg,
Moyland Wood(S).
They also added scenarios that I haven't posted:
Counter-attack at Arras (West)
Lipovec (East), unclassified version,
Tenaru (Pacific) has a glitch: Engineer can't move 2 into close assault and battle.

NOW PLAYING: Posted by Corregidor
BATTLE OF THE BRIDGEHEAD by Brummbar44. Western Front.
When I posted it I called it: D-DAY+1 Battle of the Bridgehead. It looks vanilla, but it's a 50% scenario!

AARs: 162, 50% Allies!
Online mine: 45x, 40% Allies,
Online his: 35x, 54% Allies.
After you play a human opponent, write an AAR.
***********************
***********************
KASSERINE Pass, A Mediterranean Front scenario in North Africa. It's an unclassified official scenario by SirWillibald.
This isn't my favorite, but some people seem to like it, judging by the 3 stars. I've shortened the name to Kasserine in the SFTF since others have posted their own Kasserine Pass scenarios.

Steep Hill Rules are in effect.
It's rather difficult as Allies, and I'd prefer to play with Air Rules to help them, but that's not available Online.
AARs: 118, Allies 34%
Online: 32x, Allies 19%
It finally dropped to 2 stars in December.
It's not very popular.

Kasserine:
As mentioned yourself, could be a bit hard to win from both sides.
Might be balanced a little more by putting in the actions 'blowing up bridges' and 'building pontoons' but thats not in the online for now, so we ll have to give it our best shot !
On the other hand, there are some scenarios in the 'official' online games that are hard nuts to crack to win from both sides, so why not ad another !? Another challenge to keep you on your toes !

As I originally said, I'm interested in playing official scenarios (here that haven't made it online yet).
After I got Terrain Pack and before Air Pack, we tried some variations on existing scenarios, such as First Assault Wave for 8 medals. But they didn't go well, and we didn't play them 10x, so we moved on.
We did try to come up with our own scenarios. His Breakthrough scenario, Crailsheim Operation, is really good and we've played that a few times after satisfied with initial "test" games. I found someone added it to Vassal, too, but it doesn't have the German engineer in the field, which we added in case that player wants to remove roadblock too.
I was working on a beach landing with SWA's, mines, flooded fields, Air Rules, etc. I think I'm happy with the latest version of Operation Infatuate 2, so we'll play it again to see if the Allies have a chance this time. Both of these are not available for Online play of course.

I tried to post this scenario some time ago, but got an error message when it started. Recently I found someone incorporated the 2-medal Elite Tank rule that I thought wasn't supported. Either I made a mistake, or the rule was fixed in the game.
MONT MOUCHET W/ROADS

I didn't play Mont Mouchet very much, but I thought it might be fun to play the Air Pack version with roads (no Air Rules) a few times.
SAINT-SAUVEUR-LE-VICOMTE
"Cutting the Cotentin"

SFTF - by jdrommel.
I don't post this one very much, since the English rules were changed to match the French which has differing medal requirements and Allied Air Strikes, making the Allies overpowering, IMHO. However, it's the anniversary of the battle, so what the hey.
In order to make the double-bridge work Online, river hexes were changed to prevent units from "jumping" on or off. Also, rice paddies are identical to marshes; the former works - the latter do not, so they replace marshes.

A while back I discovered the Audie Murphy official campaign scenarios by jdrommel for face-to-face play. I found the Online game could handle only a couple scenarios due to special rules. One is now available as an official scenario: Mignano Monte Lungo
*************************
AUDIE MURPHY: ALPHA YELLOW
The other Audie Murphy scenario that works Online is Alpha Yellow, Operation Dragoon, landing in the South of France.

I posted this in my buddy's spot Dec-May 2013, but it wasn't very popular, only being played against human players 40x.
Note: an empty bunker on a hill won't block line of sight. This might not occur, since the artillery will be really difficult to eliminate, but it could happen.
****************************
****************************
There's an Audie Murphy scenario that can sort of be made to work, but in order to do it some weird stuff must be set up. People who don't read rules don't get it. Because of this I usually won't post it, but will invite some people who I've played several times.
QUARRY OF CLEURY

The rules state the Allies must make 4 kills (not counting snipers) and capture the temporary medal site (a Required medal). If they kill 5,6,etc. they don't win until they get the medal. The Germans just need 5 kills.
In order to make this work and end at the same Victory Points(V.P.s), it has to be 8 V.P.s; so if Allies kill all 7 medal-producing units, they still don't win.
The Germans will start with 3 Permanent Medals, so they need 5 kills.
If the Allies kill 4 and take the medal site, it needs to be worth 4 V.P.s, which is why it has a Russian and British symbol on it.
Note: Rules say that Snipers cannot shoot tanks, but glitch allows them to Ambush tanks. Try not to let this happen in your game.
After losing this in a recent face-to-face tournament, I kind of want to play it some more.

Hi Jkoski,
regarding the date and taking into account WW expansion, why wouldnt you play both on winter maps and even implement WW rules and combat cards ?
Are these made to stick togetehr in 1 map as an OL ?

He's talking about Memoir Online -- which of course means that WW, Combat cards, and OL aren't available yet.

Well, now. It seems DOW has added a number of "new" official scenarios. So it looks like I don't need to post many of these scenarios anymore. These all seem to be 2 credits.
EASTERN
Russian Breakout, (BARBAROSSA), 16%
Battle of Kalatch, (SETBACK B4 STALINGRAD), 40%
Lipovec, 27%
PACIFIC
Bloody Ridge, GUADALCANAL, 63%
Clearing Matanikau River, 71%
Tenaru, 75%
MEDITERRANEAN
Mignano Monte Lungo, (AUDIE MURPHY), 51%
WESTERN
[Normandy] Vaumicel Manor, 49%
[Normandy] Bretel Wood (FRENCH OPEN 2011), 54%
Bastogne Corridor East, low/good, 64%
Bastogne Corridor West, poor, 36%
Battle for Hill 178 (FRENCH OPEN 2009), 59%
Carentan (BLOODY GULCH), 64%
Counter-attack at Arras, 41%
Forêt d'Ecouves, 60%
Moyland Wood, 49%
Strasbourg, 68%
ERROR:
>Tenaru, Japanese engineer doesn't work right; should have the Japanese infantry rules.
CORRECTIONS:
>Lipovec is the unclassified version which uses fordable stream #61 instead of #41, so is OK.
>Counter-attack of Arras is correct too, because Blitz makes Allied tanks move 0-2.
Once 100 games are played, I'll add the % next to each name, above. DONE.

The scenarios...
Kasserine Pass, and
Battle of the Bridgehead
seem to work OK without additional programming. Perhaps they can be added to the official section sometime this year.

Looking over the scenarios by jdrommel for the M'44 French Open 2013, there's one that's compatible with the Online game.
PAULUS' LAST OFFENSIVE
http://www.daysofwonder.com/memoir44/editor/view/?id=10826

No Commissar here.
I finally got the chance today to post it in my buddy's spot. Hopefully it will turn out to be a good scenario.
As of Sept 9,2013, Allies: 39%, for 57 games played between players.
As of Dec 4, 2013, Allies: 39%, for 71 games played between players.
*********
*********
I've now added a scenario from the French Open 2010:
GUAM, LANDING AT YELLOW BEACH

Since Moutains don't work Online, I've made them impassible. In the few games I've played face-to-face or on Vassal, most of the action occurs on the beach, and I haven't seen anyone send an infantry up a mountain.
Note: Artillery Bombard makes the Mobile Artillery either move-3 OR battle twice. It cannot move AND battle with this card.

============ NOW PLAYING:
If you're looking for an "official" scenario that's 50% (162 AARs), try Battle of the Bridgehead (June 7, 1944) under SFTF tab. It's vanilla, but if it was in the official section I think people would play it a lot and enjoy it like Operation Cobra. For more details see above.
============ NOW PLAYING:
Guam Landings on Yellow Beach by jdrommel is an official scenario for the French Open 2010. It has mountains, which don't work online, so I've made them impassible. (See above).
============ NOW PLAYING:
Drive on Caen
I just played Drive on Caen in a tournament. It comes from the Campaign Book #1, which came out before Med Theater and Winter Wars, so no BCF rules & no late war SWAs. I didn't realize until we were nearly finished that it is compatible with M'44 Online. So I've posted it under my friend's slot.
============ NOW PLAYING:
jdrommel now has more slots to post his scenarios. At the time of this post he has up:
The Road of Dabo- in original: Air Power is played as Barrage,
The Hell of Grussenheim - in original: Winter Cards and Axis plays Air Power as Barrage,
Hôtel Meurice - in original: Urban Cards and Axis no Air Power.
He may have other scenarios posted, but the other one I saw was not an official scenario.
