Incorrect score calculation Thu, 23 June 2005 14:29
Hi,
In a game of US TTR just now, I noticed my score from train length was lower in the final tally than it had been during the last turn. I did the calc. myself and the score during the last turn was correct. Other players' scores were also revised downward during the final tally.

I've seen that happen if both ends of your track end with a loop.

Hullo, folks,

This happened to me in the four games of T2R Original that I played yesterday, and I think I know what's going on. The scores had an extra 12 points added on in the US games for each player, which is of course, the points that one gets for unused stations in the Europe game.

Hopefully, the folks at DoW will take a look into this.

Hullo, folks,

Well, I was wrong in my previous message...

In the US game now, ever since Europe on-line became active, the Train Points score (what is listed as the Score or Base Score) has 12 points deducted for it, because it somehow is getting the business with stations from Europe confused with it. It's really odd, and needs to be addressed by the folks at DoW.

Everyone gets 12 extra points coming from the unused nonexistant stations. This is a bug that will be solved ASAP.
As everyone gets the same 12 points, the ranking is fine as only differences between scores are used to compute it.
Thus I consider the bug as a not so important one.

No, the total amount of points is correct.

The mistake is that 12 points gotten from the trains are missing in the table at the end.

Example: I followed a game: at the end person had 92 points from the trains. The table showed 80 points from trains, 20 for tickets and 10 for longest track. That would be 110 in total, but the total points were correct, 122 points.
