Hi Steve,
There are a couple of online tournaments ongoing.
This one (Western Front) is run by Looneyllama who designs great new scenario with combinations of rules from almost all expansions. Which means that players in this tournament have some experience.
In this tournament, two teams (Axis vs Allies) face eachother over several rounds (=scenario's). Each group has a commander in chief who decides wether or not to use reinforcements and who do the pairing of the players.
Another great tournament is run by Sam1812 over at Boardgamegeek. In that tournament groups (divisions) of 6 players do a round robin over several existing scenario's. The winner of each division goes through to the quarterfinals. Quarterfinals and beyond are knock-out rounds.
Present season will finish somewhere during the summer. Afterwards Sam usually posts a message on the online forum to tell us when and how to sign up for the next season.
There are also several French tournaments (COOL / WOLF / ...) which are run on the French Forum.
I hope this info is a bit usefull

Junior72,
Don't be so discouraged about the Allies chances. Remember, you can use Recon-1 as an artillery barrage over 4 hexes(really Air Power) before full daylight. Also, if daylight comes early those 3 artillery units can do a lot of damage. The Allies will definitely win their share of games. Since I didn't take into account the reserve units when designing this scenario, the German added armor unit may be decisive. We will have to see what John has in store for the Allies.

Our Allies will take a Combat eng infantry on the baseline hex next to Mortain (between the Ranger in the woods and the arty).

I know some of you were concerned that the Axis had too much of an advantage on this (Mortain) scenario. I just checked online and the percentage is exactly 50-50! This one should be a real epic struggle. By the way, I try to make these scenarios play like the real battle but still give both sides a fair chance. In the real battle, the Allied artillery saved the day. The Germans must attack aggressively and overwhelm the Allies before being destroyed by that artillery. Recon-1 cards for the Allies and darkness lingering for the Germans will play important but not decisive roles for each side. Have fun.

Everyone,
I will be putting back online the round 4 scenario tomorrow at 10 AM EST so Buidheo and Artimon can play the final match for that round. I am putting it on earlier as I will be unavailable to put it on later. The round 5 scenario will be back up online around 8 P.M. EST.
Thanks for your patience.

Hopefully the Rd 5 scenario will be up soon as we plan on trying again at 9pm.

Hi guys,
my wife delivered 3 days ago a beautiful boy (name's Anakin).
I'll try to stay in touch but I can't promise to be for sure ready to play.
So, if you want you can replace me with another player, or wait to find if I'll be able to play.
Whatever you want.
Thanks

Excellent design. You took care of not making it unfinishable. Even if Axis moves 8 units off the board, there are still 9 medals to get for the Allies (6 units and 3 objectives).
Many scenario designers could slip up on this kind of scenarios.

JA you're right , it is round 6.
Wim, thanks for the compliment. This scenario will play out many different ways as you will see as we play the battles. I don't want to give any hints away but there is a better way for each side to proceed. Of course, the cards have to comply. The only wild card that may throw it off is the reserve unit. Like I said before, I don't take them into account in the design. Honestly, I don't even know where and which unit to use for the best advantage. Jeroen and John have their work cut out.
That reminds me, the Allied reserve unit may be placed on either baseline. The Axis reserve unit can be placed on their baseline only.

Hate to rain on your parade, but TC has to do the lineups in the even games.
I am debating my reserve unit, don't know yet. But I think it is also TC's turn to announce his reserve unit (if any) first.
Beware: VCX Antoi Quit and myself will meet each other tomorrow for a game of M44 and some tactical discussions on the Falaise pockets might occur
Or we will be busy storming the beaches in another Operation Neptune!

If my opponent puts in his tanks (and takes one of our baseline hexes to do it) we need to retaliate with the early war anti tank infantry guys. We would like them to be placed in the village of TRUN.
Also could you add a sandbag for them?
That would be greatly appreciated.

ATTENTION ALL COMMANDERS:
Well, the units have been placed and the round may begin. Of course, as I said before, I wrote this one before we decided on reserve units. Both Jeroen's and John's placement were masterful for this scenario. John, no complaints as I gave Jeroen his sandbag. It should be a lot of fun.
Good luck to all.

Eric,
Falaise is one of the best maps I have ever seen - great job. This is the type of map that makes the game work. Now if only southoftheborder can respond to my PMs, I'll get to play it. If anyone else wants to play it with me, just PM me.

Boyd,
Thanks for the kind words. I think it plays even better without those 2 reserve units. I just played Jeronimon and he didn't get any left flank cards for the first few turns and that well placed reserve armor unit eventually decimated his 3 armor units on the baseline. Without that Allied reserve armor unit, he would have been able to build up cards for a later assault. Even at that, he still played very well and could have won with a little better dice on his right flank.

Hi Jim,
If everyone else finishes their match before you play, we will move on to the next round and get back to your match later. Just let me know a couple of days in advance when you will play and I will be sure to have it back online at that time. We have done this before and it is no problem.

I just would like an idea of who is left in round 6 and when you might be playing.
We can get started on round seven with Jeroen setting the lineups. I will not post the scenario until after I hear from those still to play. I may post it at some point on the SFTF page for John and Jeroen to look over and decide where they want their reserve unit. I will let you know on this thread when I post it.
