Memoir 44, wishes Sun, 31 August 2014 09:32
Hello dear Community,
I am really appreciating the game, and if there is something new to be produced, I would love to see the following:

- Army pack of Italians with Scenarios and tiles for North Africa and Italy
- Army pack of Poles with Scenarios and tiles for Operation Market Garden and others.
- Scenario packs with Tiles and Scenarios for special big Operations (like Winter Wars)
- Air Pack II
- Memoir 44 II: Naval Pack with a sea map, naval battles etc combinable with M44 for landing operations.
- Memoir 44 City Pack with Maps, Tiles and Scenarios for City Battles of much importance
- Paperreprint of Campaign Book Vol.01

Those are my first thoughts, and of each of those I would certainly buy 2 copies!

Please second and add, maybe we will be heard... Surprised

~Snip~ I would love to see the following:

There are already lots of tiles for North Africa and Italy in the Med. Theater expansion. The Italian army gets Artillery figures and rules in the Equipment Pack. I'm afraid we won't see another set for them, but there are some great figures on the market for Italian troops!

I love playing Market Garden, which you can play if you have the Market Garden Overlord map. It's a great scenario and lots of fun! It's amazing how the swing of momentum changes!!

Have you seen Winter Wars? It sounds like what you're hoping for and is a great expansion for Memoir '44!

- Air Pack II
Sounds like fun!

This idea comes up every so often, so I know you'll have some supporters. Personally I don't see Memoir '44 moving out of the land battles, but I would certainly enjoy a naval version if that ever happened.

The Urban Combat Deck added some fun new things having to do with city fighting! You might take a look at that if you haven't already.

- Paperreprint of Campaign Book Vol.01

The first Campaign Book is great, but we already have the PDF version for people who can't get a paper version. I would much rather have a Campaign Book volume 3!

Well, I have everything Memoir 44. So, sorry, but I know all that.
What I am look for, is more of a Campaign Book for Italian Troops (Libya, Ethiopia, Greek etc.)
- Market Garden is nowhere to be found in CB 02... Confused
- I would really buy CB 01 as a reprint, and as I am sure, there are many people like me, who don´t really like their colorprinted and bound PDF as much as a "real" book. I have to admit, to being an avid collector. Very Happy
- I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE Winter Wars.
- I also LOVE those Card Sets (Urban, Winter)
- Naval as kind of an Add-on like Air Pack, so as making those landing Operations more interesting for having to fight on sea, too. Maybe? Those cardboard-ships already existing are rather uninteresting to play, I think.

Looking at all those great scenarios done by JDROMMEL (Thank you so absolutely very much, man!), why IS there no CB03? Shocked

For some reason I was still thinking about Poland when I read "Market Garden" and my answer was highlighting the Fall Gelb campaign. I'll go back and fix my answer...though the Market Garden overlord is pretty amazing!

Very Happy (thought so...)

Overlord play is not the most liked in my gamer´s group. We like normal and Breakthrough pretty much, though.

Although not that practical for commercial reasons I think.... I like the idea of some small expansions(smaller then normal army expansions).

Like:
Urban warfare with extra city tiles, units and scenarios
Desert warfare (Italians) with extra desert tiles, units and scenarios
Jungle warfare (Chinese, guerrillas) with.. you guessed it Smile
Mountain warfare (greece for)with .......

Of course there should be thing included that are not available in the existing scenarios, like missing/extra tiles and units.

Maybe a good idea for some extra battlemap series Smile
I really want a preprinted overlord with japanese troops (preferably a landing)

I agree with your suggestions Astavar, except reprinting Campaign book 1: just not worth the effort. But another Mediterranean expansion focusing on Italy and Germany outside of N. Africa would be great. The Med. Expansion I thought was pretty light.

I love plastic so any additional armies would be great, but we won't see this unless Asmodee takes it in that direction.

Better support for combined naval and land operations has long been on my wishlist.

New side decks, like the city warfare or Ardennes cards.
Jungle, dessert, air-, naval support.

Personally I'd just love for Memoir44 to continue now that Asmodee is taking over, without starting to go "edition mad".

One wish, though: hexagonal plastic holders. Perhaps simply a way to buy empty Terrain Packs.

Would anyone be interested in a preprinted double breakthrough maps with the Battle of the Bulge on one side and Kursk on the other? Each map could be played individually or both together (like Operation Neptune). A reinforcement table would play a large part in this battle. You could play it with 2 or even 4 players on one map and as many as 8 players like overlord with both maps. Logistically this would be ideal as many of us can't get enough room or players to play full Operation Neptune.

Also, would anyone be interested in a Guadalcanal double preprinted Breakthrough map? It would be similar to the one above. You could play it with reinforcements arriving for both sides throughout the battle or you could even play it like a campaign where when a medal count is reached the battle is over and the next battle is set up on the map. Obviously, if you play it like that no units would be preprinted on the map, just the terrain. You could even possibly have destroyer battles though I'm not sure how it would work unless you had a lot of ocean hexes.

Any suggestions for the other side of Guadalcanal as a double preprinted Breakthrough map?

I'd still like to see a reprinting of the out-of-print summary cards. Some of those of us that were late to the party would still like to be able to get these without a) paying an arm and a leg (or maybe two) for an Air Pack or b) dealing with the lousy print quality of my printer Laughing

Aside from that, as others have mentioned, I'd love to see a naval equivalent of Memoir.

Thanks again,

BLM

I would like to see an island map, either breakthrough format or like the current D-Day Landings maps. This could include rules for Amtrack landing craft, like that used in the Pacific Campaign, where they move like armor once they reach the beach. Some had turrets with 47mm anti-tank guns (I think)

One expansion : "Summer wars" like "Winter wars" with and or a "Bagration 1944" operative campaign book. Soviets versus Germans.
The deal would be : where can you go with russians in this summer44? What can German do to avoid to be defeated? How to attack and how to defend?

My list:

Italian army pack- or a "minor nations army pack"- Italians, Chinese, ANZAC etc.
Campaign book #3
More Overlord and Extended Breakthrough maps.

I don't see much that they can do after that- they literally have done almost everything.

Here's to dreaming...Smile

Re:Memoir 44, wishes Thu, 25 September 2014 09:53
Here are my thoughts on the topic:

1. Small bags which include an airplane model + cards associated with it + plastic stand. Besides being an easy and affordable way to reprint the original Air Pack, thess bags could also introduce new planes/rules. And the models wouldn't even have to be painted, merely colored in their M44 nations colors (not in the dull, neutral grey introduced in the "white envelope" scenarios). It can be done: just look on boardgamegeek at the expansions for Duel in the Dark.

2. Campaign Book 3 with North Africa, Battle for the Bulge, Kursk, Market Garden, Stalingrad (needs a whole new set of urban tiles), Crete, Italy/Monte Cassino. Also maybe this time around campaigns will be more than scenarios linked together by a system of awarding points; "what if" scenarios could be included (such as the invasion of Malta); some manner in which surviving troops get experience; less linear campaign paths.

3. Revised rules for the objectives: as it is now, it's simply not worth the effort going after them: by the time you get there you're either one medal away from winning or have given away enough medals to the opponent so as to lose more than you gain. Also dynamic objectives could go a long way towards getting M44 out of the medal grinding which dominates its gameplay.

4. A way to introduce to M44 the concepts of time and weather: limited number of turns in some cases (Blitzkrieg was called that for a reason), daylight not depending on dice rolls - amongst others. For an idea of how weather could easily fit into this kind if game, check out the rules for Full Metal Planète.

5. A way to introduce to M44 the concept of recon: markers such as those used in Battle of the Giants could be one solution.

6. Scaled figurines, something to deposit the entire M44 collection in and yes, hex trays/boxes/whatever that can actually be used Laughing .

7. I'd love to see naval warfare, but I think it's simply beyond the scope and scale of M44.

8. Almost forgot, since this isn't about the online game: pay-to-play is stupid and one of the lowest forms of money grabbing ever devised. Invest some time into bringing out a revised M44 online (campaign play modes solo and online, regularly updated content, better graphics) that can be bought and then played for free.

Have to disagree with you there about the money grabbing. Under the current model it costs literally cents, not even pocket change, for an hours worth of entertainment. If you end up playing so many games in a period that causes your outlay to be significant and worth complaining about then you have bigger problems than being supposedly slighted by a company legitimately selling its products. Just my two cents. Hey that's one game.

I would still like to see a set of Italian infantry and tanks and a set of French tanks for 1940. I know you can use other manufacturers figs for the Italians but I have not found plastic tanks of the right scale. All this is probably unlikely but I these are still on my wish list.

A campaign book covering North Africa and Italy would be a great addition to the series (along with the aforementioned Italians).

Yep, so true

Tanks are a PITA to proxy for mm44, i dont care much about infantry as 1/72 scale fits very fine.

Amen to CB Africa!

As was the case in WW2 the Italian campaign has been overlooked in M'44 - in terms of official Breakthrough and Overlord scenarios.

I think the Mediterranean theater was overlooked, except for N. Africa. There's a lot that a real Med. Expansion could cover.

Probably not possible from a production standpoint, but maybe a HEAVY DUTY version of the Campaign bag. I had to fabricate one out of heavy duty OD green canvas and it works well enough, but one just like the original with a large capacity area and a heavier zipper Wink
I had purchased two of these and the zipper part came undone once the bad was fully loaded.

The strategy guide was my other wish Smile
