70th Anniversary of the fall of Berlin Tue, 21 April 2015 13:56
Greetings All,

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the fall of Berlin I ran a mini tournament for four players last Sunday afternoon.

Two scenarios were chosen from SFTF -
1. Stumtiger's "Attack on the Seelower Hohen".
2. Nygaard's "Halbe Pocket - 1st Breakout attempt".

Two combatants were designated German, and two Russian, (chosen at random) and we played each scenario against each opposing General. So effectively we got to play each scenario twice, 4 games in all.

Scoring was just by medals won.

The best German General was then to face off against the best Russian General in a scenario for the capture of the Reichstag.

Unfortunately we ran out of time, and so the final decider on the fate of Berlin will only be decided next week, on Saturday 25th April.

I have posted a brief battle report with a couple photo's on my User Page if anybody would like to take a look.

My thanks to Sturmtiger and Nygaard for their time, effort and dedication for posting scenarios on SFTF.

A great afternoon gaming.

Greetings Nemesszili,

I haven't decided yet on the final scenario.

The two that are tempting me are the Zoo Flak tower ( also in your selection)and one by arturopala - "The final stage - the centre of Berlin".

I'll print them all out and cogitate over them.

Thanks for the pointers.

Talk anon,

Greetings Antoni,

Thanks for the positive comment re: report.

We would have played off for the three and four spot, yet unfortunately "Dangerous" Delia will be away for the Klub meeting this coming weekend, so it will probably never happen.
(Klub meets every second week at a local library. The mini tournament was held at my house on a non Klub weekend)

What I will also do with my next mini tournament is record losses as well.
Then in the event of a tie ( which happened here ) which ever General has lost the least troops will take the lead.
