LADDER USA 2er - NC warm-up Mon, 17 August 2015 22:56
Hey folks!

My friend Julien was talking about this a lot!

I dunno how it will works in future, but now I want to invite Angel6 to a 6 games match. I never played him. He is current number one. I saw him in Paris via live stream Smile

If anybody want to invite somebody please do it! Let's start with something small and we will grow up.

Re:LADDER Tue, 18 August 2015 00:22
We can use the ladder as a warm-up for NC, to offer 6-game training matches to players who wants to play a series rather than games here and there.

Simple rules, no constraints, no complaints. It is really about warming-up for NC rather than prestige.Don't be a d*ck during a match or you're out = no whining.
It's gonna take a couple matches for everybody to have a stable rank.

Series of 4 or 6 games.

Players agree on the number of games before the match.
Reminder: Don't be a d*ck during a match or you're out (no leaving after 4 games because you're in the lead if you agreed to play 6.
There won't be any TD for this.

Name your game : LAD-Bo4 or LAD-Bo6 so that a player can not change the terms of the match.
Winner posts the result right after his match and update the rankings in the same post - or the result will not be taken into account. Thanks

  • In case of a win by highest-ranked player, players keep their rank.
  • When a player beats an opponent in a rung higher than his, the two players switch rungs.
  • If the game ends in a tie in a 6-game match, the lower-ranked player takes the spot just below the higher-ranked player.
  • If the game ends in a tie in a 4-game match, players keep their rank.

We can integrate constraints regarding who you can challenge when/if the ladder is working well.

    Re:LADDER USA 2er - NC warm-up Wed, 19 August 2015 20:50
I would suggest that we start the ladder in order of the regristrations, which would be

    1. Sivorro
    2. Sysyphus (?)
    3. benny
    4. Tyrana
    5. Man Without Shadow (?)

This seems to be the easiest solution for this "test run".
So we take the rules of Sysyphus and try the ladder system as a warm-up for NC and maybe have a closer look to it after NC.

New players are always allowed to register and start at the bottom.
I think the seedings will change fast enough.

    Any more suggestions?

P.S. Melinda, just send me a PM with your preferred appointment, I have enough time Razz

I was thinking of something like this:

Unranked players that play each other will enter a provisional ranking: 1) Win/loss 2) chronological order.

Once you play your second match, you will enter the "established" rankings, and will be placed according to the result of the challenge.

    1. Sivorro 1 win
    2. Benny 1 win
    3. Vigulisam 1 loss
    4. Tyrana 1 loss

Can also be challenged: MAD BLOCKER allan, Sysyphus

Hey Stas, just read your post while checking about NC news Smile

At the moment I'm far away from competitive play, while I need to change this for NC quickly Wink
My rank is just kind of an accident, I didn't play any tops (like you) for many months, and I really need to change my mind set first before I'm able to give you or anybody else a real challenge. So it's a clear no for now Rolling Eyes

You can put me on the list, but my schedule is still difficult. Largely US evening times right now with possible weekends. Or, if someone is willing to play a challenge in parts - say 2 games per day over my lunch - I could do that.

OK, my explanation was bad, and very confusing.
In order to place new players in the table, we will make a difference between "provisional" and "established" players.

    1) "Provisional players"played a match involving two new players, so they are placed according to : 1) Win/tie/loss 2) chronological order.

    2) "Established players" are provisional players who played a second match, or new players who played against a player already in the table.

They will be placed according to the result of their match:
    a) In case of a win by highest-ranked player, players keep their rank.
    b) When a player beats an opponent in a rung higher than his, the two players switch rungs, winner will be placed one rung ahead of their opponent. (original idea was not the best, players are supposed to climb the ladder without benefiting from the result of a match they did not play)
    c) If the game ends in a tie in a 6-game match, the lower-ranked player takes the spot just below the higher-ranked player.

I'll make an example later today of updated rankings.

    Including Benny vs Knock's 3-3

    c) If the game ends in a tie in a 6-game match, the lower-ranked player takes the spot just below the higher-ranked player.

    Updated rankings:

    7. Tyrana 1 loss

If 2 new players were to play each other, the new rankings would be as followed.

    1. Sivorro 1 win
    2. Benny
    3. Knockando
    4. Mad blocker Allan 1 win
