That was a good read. Smile

Personally I find it a pity you forgot the Forgotten Battle Scenario. I have played both Seelow nights and the Forgotten Battle and I would give the Forgotten battle higher marks than Seelow Hights for fun playing. But I might be biased because of subject matter. Smile (Also I do not like the recon models very much)

Hope to be able to join you guys one year in the future.
Memoir on! Smile

Jeroen,

Technically, they didn't forget The Forgotten Battle. I was supposed to bring it but couldn't make it at the last minute due to a health emergency. I usually bring six or seven copies to pass out to those who want them. The last two years Sam has selected a couple of my Overlords to play and has depended on me to have the printouts of the scenarios. He didn't know I wasn't coming until he had already arrived at the hotel. I'm really looking forward to next year's show.

Eric

Jeroen, next year's show is in western Pennsylvania, about an hour from my house. If you come I'd be happy to pick you up and show you around.

Actually that was my bad there. I had two copies of the setup and was in charge of that event. I had all the needed terrain and figs prepacked. But in the chaos of the many goings on of WBC, I misplaced the setup maps. I checked my car twice but could not locate them in a timely fashion when it came time to set up the boards. I settled on Seelowe as a last minute replacement. Later I discovered both copies of the setup on a clip board under some other papers.

Sometimes no matter how well you prepare, things get lost in the wind.

Dudes, stop apologizing, you had fun, did you not? Cool

It's about playing the game and enjoying it, and I am sure you did that!

Lol - ummm, sorry about saying I was sorry - lol.

Yes, those OL events have taken on a life of their own for sure. The Seelowe OL was really closer than one would think. Our Russians started out well, then things went into the tank from there. We probably should have had 6 more medals. But thems the dice and they fall where they may. Still a fun time which would be anytime you are able to game.

By the way, I've submitted my application to run the Memoir tournament at WBC again next summer. The dates will be a bit earlier: If we are able to keep our usual Thursday-Saturday schedule, it will be July 28-30, including 4-5 Overlords.

It will be a bit farther inland next year, near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

I'll post a new thread for it at a later date.
