Hi guys,
Can anyone recommend decent card sleeves for the base game cards please?
I currently use Dragon Shield for my Conflict of Heroes game .
Cheers
Dave

This isn't the answer you're looking for, but personally, I had an unfortunate run-in with sleeves once.

I once played against a friend who had his deck in sleeves. His luck ith the cards was incredible -- one strong card after another. Then he played TFH, remixed the cards with a hand-to-hand "shuffle," and he drew all of the same strong cards again.

I don't play games with cards in sleeves anymore. It may have been after that when I bought my spare deck.

I notice this has had 84 views; does nobody else in Memoir land use card sleeves?!

Nope, I never use sleeves for the exact reason that Sam gave. Plus I look at the presence of worn cards as a badge of honor...an outward sign of lots of fun! Add to that the availability of replacement cards and I don't see any reason to sleeve the Memoir cards.

Thanks Jesse, now the online shop has closed won't it be more difficult to purchase cards though?

I do sleeve and so does the Memoir44 Brigade Nederland.

We have bought some cheap sleeves but those tended to rip easily and we have switched to a more sturdy sleeve. The name of the brand escapes me at the moment. (But they have a silver dot in one of the upper corners.)

We sleeve because it is cheaper to replace sleeves than cards. Also for tournaments we can easily add another "back" to distingish between different tables/decks.

I use the same sleeves with the silver dot. I'll find the name of them. I only sleeve my Overlord deck. I only have one of these and I'm playing a lot of Overlord in a couple of clubs. I would like to keep them as nice as possible without having to order the Overlord expansion again just to get the cards.

I have good experience, for a good price:

https://www.swanpanasiasleeves.com/collections/premium-sleev es/products/swan-prem-card-sleeves-60x92-mm-euro-100-per-pac k
https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1139/4694/products/swn-508_1_grande.jpeg?v=1453839918
Be sure to select the thick ones.

Why: How fustrating when that special card has specific damage so every one recognize it before it is played or all cards show wear and the 2 air sorties don't.

Greetings All,

I sleeve my cards in nearly all the games that I have that have cards in them.
Doing Up Front was essential.

Although I haven't done Dead of Winter location cards.

I cant really see how they make identification of specific cards any easier? Not to deny that some of you have had bad experiences with sleeved cards.

My thoughts,

I'm not sure if you're referring to my comment, but it isn't an issue of being able to identify the cards more easily at all. It's about not being able to shuffle the cards properly, so good cards (or bad cards) tend to come in clumps.

Like you said though, if it works for someone else then more power to them.

Jesse, I use Dragon Shield sleeves for Conflict of Heroes solo expansion which requires shuffling the cards often.
These sleeves are excellent; snug fit, they shuffle exceptionally well and are very tough while being easy to handle.
Unfortunately, they don't make the correct size to fit Memoir otherwise I'd have bought lots!
On another note, I've been on the Asmodee UK website and there is no mention of Memoir on there........Anybody know why this is?
Cheers

Yeah, you won't see any other DoW games or Fantasy Flight games on their web site either. I don't know what the plan is but for now it's best to just find the games you want at local game stores or online retailers.

A comment on shuffling:

I deal the deck out into five stacks, laying one, one, one, one, one card in turn from left to right.
This splits up any "clumping".
Maybe give each individual stack a normal shuffle as I combine the stacks.

Doesn't take long, even when doing a Finest Hour during the game.
