Summary cards for Supported armor and supported infantry? Tue, 08 March 2016 22:46
Are the above available anywhere? i don't see them in the card compendium nor do I believe they are included in hard copy in the D-Day Landings expansion...

Well, hopefully some time in the future, although DoW could've updated the card compendium by now, I suppose... Crying or Very Sad

I created some unofficial cards for VASSAL to fill the gaps for now:

That's really cool, bdgza! Thanks!

Hope there'll be hard-copies one day soon too! The least they could do is post these in the card compendium! They look great!

Thank you!

I like to cut and paste the cards to create printable sheets for individual battles when I have friends over to play. This makes it easier for the guys that don't play as often as I do. These will certainly get added to rotation!

Thanks again,
Bob

May I ask why there is a card numbered "27/2" (Supported Infantry)?

Campaign Book 2 refers to Polish Dragoon Units as #27.

D-Day Landings refers to Supported Infantry Units as #27

Actually Bart is just trying to be helpful.

It seems that when DOW created CAMPAIGN BOOK VOLUME #2 that it created the unit type POLISH DRAGOONS .
When describing these units in the rules sections for scenarios that contained them DOW states: "Place a badge on Polish Dragoons units (Troops 27 - Polish Dragoons)". It seems that by this reference, DOW intended to created a reference Summary Card numbered Troops 27 to refer to these units.

However, when DOW created D-DAY LANDINGS, they also created a unit type SUPPORTED INFANTRY. Unfortunately, they also referred to this unit type as referenced by (Troops 27 - Supported Infantry). Hence, DOW created two different unit types, but assigned them the exact same reference number.

So when Bart, being the helpful guy he is, decided to create these reference cards for others to enjoy, he was in a dilemma. Rather than exclude one of these reference types, he simply put TROOPS 27 for the first unit created - POLISH DRAGOONS and TROOPS 27/2 for the second type - SUPPORTED INFANTRY.

So in the end, DOW created a problem and Bart evened it out.
So thanks Bart for this effort and ALL you do to keep the troops happy on VASSAL!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
