Mars vs Ares The Italo-Greek war Fri, 24 February 2017 16:45
For those interested in the battles between the Italians and Greeks over the Autumn and Winter of 1940, I've designed and posted a new Breakthrough scenario on this campaign. You can find it by clicking the link below:

Note that you may need to substitute some straight and/or curved river hexes with their winter variants. The town hexes that are "missing" can of course easily be substituted by a church hex. Note that two base games are required as well as the terrain pack and possibly the Pacific expansion for additional hill and/or mountain hexes. I personally keep all tiles in one box, so I'm not quite sure what's exactly in which expansion.

Though it may look like an easy Italian win, you will find it's surprisingly hard for them to win this scenario, which is actually historically accurate. Very Happy

By the way, exit rules apply between the markers, not only to the hexes they are on.

Obstacles and mine fields are laid out by the Allied player, btw.

Please note that I have made some (seemingly)minor changes to the scenario. It turns out I had misnterpreted the rules regarding mountain terrain, so I've specified how they are to be played in this particular scenario. I've also added one starting Allied infantry (as the correct though somewhat modified mountain rules allow for many more options as well as greater speed for the Axis infantry in the center in the Grammos Mountains, which should in fact make the scenario much more dynamic on the Allied right flank) and replaced a hill tile with a mountain tile (which was always intended to be like that). Aesthetic-wise I've added actual exit markers in favor of the battle star tokens previously used to denote them.

I hope some of you will give this one a try!

The breakthrough format is my absolute favourite too!

Would appreciate some feedback if and when you do get round to playing it!
