Sometimes when a player joins me in a battle after I invite him/her and they see that I am a B G they leave. Rank has little to as to how good one is. I have been defeated by every rank there is.
The purpose of this game is to have fun, not to see how many games you have won.
If you are knew to MM44 you can gain experience by playing games with more experienced players will help you. Also most experienced will be more than happy to help you.
So please stay in the game

I had two players recently leave very early in games.

One after one turn and the other after two turns.

The second player typed "speed" after my first turn then "no speed - no time" and left.

I know I am not the fastest player to play a card, but sometimes I think some think that this is a 10 min game.

I agree with you. We live a world of people without any regards for others, it is all about them. If they don't have time to play a game the play the computer. Also they don't know if you have a disability of some sort.
I don't believe those types of players last long.

I do see our point, but feel that those players will not be reading/participating in the forum.

My strategy with new players is to try to engage them in chat. If that works explain the M44 etiquette: "play two games, if you do not have time we like you to tell us up font" and give them the link to the forum. after that it usually get's into basic M44 strategy and more if the scenario lends itself for it.

Very Happy Absolutely the best approach. When dealing with a newbie, a few kind words can make a world of difference. How sad for those without the patience to spend a few minutes learning our etiquette. This community is very classy and welcoming. And still one of the very best online games ever!

I will ask a cadet if they have the board game. If not I ask them if they want some help, especially hovering the mouse over a terrain tile or a unit to how they effect the game. The better a player becomes the more of a challenging the games becomes.
