Upgraded to High Sierra on Mac - No longer working Thu, 21 December 2017 19:14
Hi all,

I upgraded to OSX High Sierra on Mac and M44 no longer works. Anyone have the same problem or does anyone have a solution? I tried to reinstall -- did nothing.

The screen just shows white and does not load when I start up the M44 app.

Something similar happened to me. I bought a new iMac (with High Sierra installed) and transferred everything from my old iMac to the new one. Even after installing the Legacy Java 6 I experienced the same thing you did--just a white screen. I searched the forums; back in 2010 or 2011 there were problems with this on PC's, and the answer was to upgrade the software drivers for the video card. In this case, it would be to DOWNGRADE the drivers--but that is not easily done, as the drivers are an integral part of the OS X operating system. I also tried deleting the only preference file I could find--that just kept it from starting altogether. Re-installing did not help me, either. Fortunately, I still have a laptop with Sierra on it, and I plan NOT to upgrade it to High Sierra so that I can continue to run Memoir on it.

I suppose you could try DOWNGRADING to Sierra--but I do not know if that will solve the problem or not.

"It seems it is not possible to connect to our servers.
Maybe your Internet connection is down or you have a firewall that bocks outgoing HTTP or HTTPS access."

Any solutions on this one?

I am having the same problem. And my internet connection is just fine, and the firewall is not on.

I have the same problem ... I am French speaking and I posted on the french forum but no solution for the moment. I sent to asmodée the problems encountered ... I await an answer from them.

This is possibly the most helpful thread on the entire internet.

I'm by no means computer savvy, but the two links in this thread have worked perfectly for my tired old mac ..

I have to echo this thanks. Upgraded my Mac today and it was so nice to have clear instructions on how to get my Memoir 44 Online back up and operating. So

I just tried both of these procedures, and neither of them worked.

Any other ideas?

I also just tried to boot an old PC and can't get past a missing password to get the machine going. $%^%#@@

Did you try them in the order listed?

Also, you will need Java 6 Legacy.

I got a new MAC as well and can't seem to get to where I need, have tried and get to a certain point and don't see what they say I should.

Luckily, have a laptop and have used that for my last few matches.

My system was running just fine and I had made the Java legacy 6 correction, library information change, and cacerts file as previously listed, but now it is back to its old ways and saying connection refused.

ARRRRGGGGHHH!

Any ideas?

I was having the same issues a while back, but now up and running, so I did something correct according to the instructions! So, they do work.
