Is the app free if I have the board game? and is there a time limit to play? Mon, 06 April 2020 01:59
Hi, sorry very new here. I have the board game and have registered the number. Do I need to pay for the digital version as well?
And second question:
I am in Australia and want to play with friends in the UK.
On the digital version can we prolong play so that they wake up and make a move, then we wake up the Southern Hemisphere and make a move over a period of a week or two? Is this possible or is there a time limit on play?

No freebie apps with board game purchase, unfortunately.

If you create a game with your friends by invite, you can set your game timer for anything from 7 minutes per player up to 15 days long. That would mean each player has up to 15 days to complete their game. So for 4 players, a total of 60 days possible. Which would be incredibly boring of course, lol. But once they accept your invite, they would have to leave the game for it to collapse, and if you don’t have a bot replacement, it will just be a very long wait.

Thank you Shilo, does only one person need to purchase the online game or do all players need to purchase?

I've written to the company, as they provide the code for you to play - yet the web version is not functioning?! I've asked if they provide a code for the other options (steam, etc)

Since we are in quarantine we bought the board game for $45.00 to play online, thinking post-quarantine we could play together again.

I'll let you know what they say - fingers crossed.

A very long time ago you got free access to the web version when you bought a physical copy of the game. Since then, Days of Wonder has invested a ton of time and money into improving and developing the digital versions.

You do not get a free copy of the digital versions when you enter the code for your physical version any more, and that has been the case for a long time now.

However, the digital versions are very good and are worth the investment if you enjoy Ticket to Ride. Have fun and stay safe!
