TTR TOURNAMENT ON STEAM	Tue, 21 April 2020 16:14

hi all: I am, Dan (ITA dandee) an old ttr player as well as organizer of some tournaments played in the community in recent years. Given the period and also considering the Thread "Coronavirus Tournaments" i thought to invite also the great players through a survey on the group that we have on facebook. Already some have confirmed their presence. We join the consensus and then see what kind of tournament to do, multi or single, and in what way. we will update shortly cu dan [Report message to a moderator]

I was thinking 2 modes of play: 1. A 2-player tournament : Swiss round (3 or 4 rounds max) then KO. 2. Single night multi-tournaments (we can do several on several maps) on a short format (5 games max). I think we also need a single medium of communication to meet other players. Alright, we have a few more faces. Truckerteller will manage the 2-player tournament, he will decide the format. For multis, I'll just see what everyone wants once we have a channel of communication. I created a discord server, let me be familiar with it, and I'll send you a link to join tomorrow. That will help everybody check their pm, their schedule, talk directly to people in our lobby without coming here or chat together while playing once everyone is registered. I'll play, if I can figure out how I played before (Ipad, Steam on PC, which account I bought it for, etc.) First choice is multi, it is more random. I'll play 2P also, but its been so long since I last played, I'm sure I'll get slaughtered. [Report message to a moderator]

Seems I was easily tricked into organizing. For 2P USA, I think there's a good amount of interest to have a Swiss tournament, at least from Sysyphus and myself. So, proposed setup: - Open far all who have a normal reputation and game history - and/or are vetted by people we know. - 6 Rounds Swiss, one round per week, make a good effort to schedule asap. - 6 Games per match, 4 points for a win, 2 points for a tie, plus games won (so maximum 10 points per match, 5 points when 3-3) - Played on steam, alternating starts, 15 mins per player per game, no bot replacement. - I'll schedule the first 2 or 3 rounds without taking full results into account to get the pairings out quicker. - Pairings based on Swiss system, seeding based on TELO For those not familiar with Swiss tournaments: You play all rounds, each new round against someone with more or less the same amount of points as yourself. Lots of players with same points means highest seed plays player seeded at half+1 etc. [Report message to a moderator]

Hi all, Lots of comebacks apparently Corona had brought a lot of people out of hiding? I haven't played in 3 years or more; never had Steam before, but most things seem more or less the same except the leading board in the rankings. What's the story there: they don't seem to be for real, but nobody is able or interested in doing anything about that? Anyway, i'm not joining this tournament yet, first trying to find my way around and help some totally new tot TTR friends with the game. Maybe sometime in the future i'll have time and opportunity to play tournaments again. Anyway, nice to see so many old names again!! Stay safe and healthy everyone. [Report message to a moderator]

Hellou everyone Thx Julien for the message. Seems my last games are from 2018 few and basicly from 2015, really active I was like 10 years ago... time flies. I tried to start some games here, but seems I need some steam... have to learn what that is. If I make it work some games and chatting with old friends would be nice.
