Missed Opportunity?

I think DOW missed a golden opportunity to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings by releasing a special edition or collector's edition of M '44 or a new expansion. Anyone have any comments?

You must have missed the New Flight Plan that was released last year on June 6th. And their big D-Day expansion came out on the 70th anniversary in 2014.

I think DOW just thinks more in business opportunities. I don't know much about sales figures, but being over 15 years old I guess it's not selling like it used to.
Personally I hope memoir will go the crowdfunding way one day. Still much opportunities...

When reprint runs and expansions sell out in less than a year (NFP is almost a year to the day and it's getting pretty scarce) but reprints only come out every 2 or 3 years, if they are motivated by business decisions, they are doing it wrong.

If it's worth it to do reprints every 2-3 years, and they sell out in a year, why isn't it worth it to do it every year? It's a rhetorical question because we will never know why.

you would think that over time they might increase the print runs but at least one possibility is just that they reprint when they know they can sell it in a reasonable time, and those that miss out are not that many, and represent a number in the margin of error where they dont want to print more in case it gets stuck on the stock shelves for too long
lets say they estimate that a print run of 4000 get snapped up within a year, maybe they print 4000 and it turns out they sell out but the demand was there for 4500. Maybe they want to see this happen many times before they increase their print runs to 5000, maybe one time they did increase it but then the stocks didnt sell quick enough.
Have the reprint schedules changed noticeably for dow/asmodee?
