Expansion Europa 1912 - Depots

If I need to travel through a city that has a depot on it, i.e. I have a route into and a route out of the city, do I have to surrender one of my depots for both the route in, and then the route out, therefore losing 2 of my 4 remaining depots?

No, you only need to discard one of your depots if you want the train cards for the city's depot. Otherwise you can claim routes into cities with depots multiple times without discarding any depots at all.
I guess that if you claim the two routes on consecutive turns, you would never want to empty the warehouse more than once, as that warehouse has very few cards the second time and isn't worth spending another depot for.
Was that clear? I'm not sure ...

Oh I see! We’ve been playing it wrong! So basically it’s optional if you decide to give up a depot for the warehouse cards. If you’d rather not, you just play as usual.
