D-Day Landings Event Wed, 17 March 2021 01:06
Hello all,

The Charles Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center in Chattanooga, TN will be hosting us again this year as we will be playing through the 6 map D-Day Landings on Saturday and Sunday of D-Day weekend.

We would love to have you if you are able to be there! The only cost will be for admission into the Heritage Center, which is well worth it. It's a great facility honoring some of our nations greatest military heroes!

Feel free to contact me with questions. For more information the link below will take you to the Facebook event page.

We had a great time playing Memoir over the weekend.
Over the course of the 2 days we played the full D-Day Landings, the American maps of D-Day Landings, an Overlord created by the Dutch Open organizers, a breakthrough from the 2015 Belgium Open, a breakthrough from the 2019 Dutch Open and the 3-player map created for the 2018 Dutch Open.
We had 12 players day 1 and 7 players day 2. We had several local players (around Chattanooga, TN) plus 2 from Kentucky and 1 from New York City.
We plan on doing it again next year around D-Day weekend. Hopefully it will be even bigger and better... Maybe even a tournament... Stay tuned!

It's nice to see that scenario is going places. Literally and figuratively ...

I hope you enjoyed it.

We sure did! We played it twice, game 1 my daughter won as the Polish, game 2 I won as the Russians. It's a lot of fun, thanks for the work you did creating it!

Actually, that's not the complete story.

The idea was conceived as a 3-player option a few years before that Dutch Open. When the Dutch Open was in need of a scenario for the evening program, this idea got dug up from under the dust. The first version of the scenario for the DO was for 3 players.
As the Dutch Open prefers evening programs with more players, we converted it to a scenario that can be played with 3 or 6 players. At the DO it was played as 6-player, but I think it plays better as a 3-player.

And to the contrary of what participants at that DO thought, the idea was not conceived under the influence of the famous Dutch weed.

With three it is a M44 scenario.

With six it is M44 the party game Smile
(Yes alcohol was consumed that evening Wink )
