Playing Base/Expansion Scenarios with NFP Thu, 10 June 2021 20:56
What scenarios from the base game/expansions can be played with NFP pretty well? As a general rule, I noticed that scenarios with large number of units that are more slow-paced, like "Into the Cauldron" play pretty well with NFP. Fast-paced scenarios, like "Escape via the Coastal Road", can get ruined pretty quickly by a strong air combat card.
What are your thoughts?

Hello,
personally, I prefer to use the NFP with Breakthrough or Overlord scenarios rather than standards scenarios, because of more space and more time in the game.

You are also less likely tp lose by carpet bombing in a breakthrough game if you where carpet bombed. Razz

Because of certain cards like Tank & Bunker Busting, I wouldn't use NFP with scenarios where there are several no-retreat tanks clumped together. Similarly, I would avoid it in scenarios with artillery in bunkers or in the back row, because it makes the artillery too easy to kill.

In general, I like to add one house rule to most NFP scenarios: No planes on the first turn, to give each player a chance to protect some units. (This is a rarity for me. I almost never use house rules.)
