Sky Islands not compatible with base game

Hello guys
I have a question. We played Small World for a while now and are really happy with it. That's why we bought the expansion Sky Islands.
Our Small World game is in german and we accidentally bought the french Sky Island. This is not really an issue, since most of us also speak french. But the two versions are not compatible (see link).

Now my question, if i buy now an english version of sky islands, will it me compatible with my german base game?
