I have an explanation for that sosy...
A French magazine (Des jeux sur un plateau) is organizing a contest to win the PC version of Ticket to Ride.
The last question is : "What is the best score recorded in all online games since the creation of the website ?"
I personally knew the answer. No need to ask

Well, there was a thread about this a while ago, and someone actually went and got the highest conceivable score against a dumbbot.
But that's pretty amusing, anyway. =)

Well that probably explains why people are asking this question...they want other people to do their work for them.

How about the biggest difference. I had a player get mad that I blocked him and drew the remaining 28 tickets.
Final score 113 to -221 (won by 334 points).
(BTW, he did finish LA-MIA).

I was just about to post my 1st question to the forum and already see it being asked.
I just scored 206 points against a real oppenent and was wondering what the highest real score has been. It's the 1st time I ever got over 200 points in a 2 player game.

Wow. That tops my favorite, beating my three opponents' combined scores 133-88.
In any case, I'm proud to say I've never scored 200 points.

My record is 224 in a two player game.
The other player got 117.

I beat myself a couple of days ago by trying to get the ultima route. Score ended up being around 254 to -11. I can't tell exactly what it was because only the -11 was recorded in my history, but I also had about -18 from bad destination draws.

If you score more than 150 in a two player game you are playing very badly.

You are right.
I agree. I only scored over 200 in the early days. At that time I took the most pride in high scores regardless of the win. I would take more route cards even when I knew I had the win. I would usually gamble for a higher score whenever I felt I had enough of a score buffer to take the chance.
I have to thank Hawaienne for curing me of this and showing me that the win is more gratifying then the final score. Before I played his "I may block" games, I always sent a "Sorry" after placing a block, and almost always drew more cards.

I browsed through my history to see if rek is right - probably he is!
I started to play in November 2004, and managed a few games with 150+ (my absulute high was 171 ) as a beginner.
In the year 2005 I played about 700 games, and there were none, zero, not a single one with 150+

... and needed the money?
For sure, Rek is right
I browsed through my history (shame on DOW : there is an error with ranked / non ranked games) and i'm proud to announce:
NEVER scored more than 148 in a 2er game (right from the beginning).
Highest Win: 148
Highest Lost: 134
Lowest Win: 57
Lowest Lost: 39

I've actually had my top three scores online in the last few weeks - all 2 player games - but only because my opponents allowed me to go:
SEA-POR-SF-LA-PHO-SFe-DEN-KC-SL-CHI-PITT-NY
Once that is line is finished (and especially if you can connect to Atlanta) you can often be confident of grabbing an east-west route that is already completed. Those scores were 190, 205, and 237; and I finished 9, 10, and 12 routes respectively. The 190 and 205 games had one or two uncompleted routes. The above path only yields 42 points on the board, so you need to supplement with tickets. And once you have a few good draws with tickets, its hard to stop because you're still expecting SF-ATL or DEN-PITT or Santa Fe to Chicago...
If your opponents allow you to both get every connection you need to do the above series AND fail to end the game quickly, then it's more a tribute to how poorly your opponents are playing rather than how good a player you happen to be, IMHO... Otherwise I'd have a better rank than 1393!
Of course I do block when the tickets justify it and I've won games 80-73, 104-70, and 108-28 as well. Depends on the day and what I feel I need to do to win.
