Win and Loose the game...at the same time? Sat, 07 January 2006 03:40
First of all this game is really hard. We've played it multiple times with 4 people and have never beaten it. The other day we finally played with 6 people, which makes a huge different; makes the game quite a bit easier, but we still came close at the end...incredibly close. We had 11 seige engines down and 11 swords (the majority were white). The player picked up a black card and it told us to put another Pict on the battlefield. Well it just so happened that that was the 4th Pict. So we lost the game because 12 seige engines had surrounded Camelot, but we won the game because 12 swords had been laid and we had a majority of white (Cool. Nothing in the rule book explains this situation so we called it a tie (which was dissapointing after 2 and a half hours of playing).

Play the game as intended - ie. with the Traitor - and at least one player will win each game!

If the Traitor will be present! Razz

If they're having difficulties beating the game without Loyalty cards, I'd suggest that they try again (changing tactic, maybe Wink ) until they've grasped how the game CAN be won.
Adding a Traitor at this point will make life too easy for him and too hard for the others.

Have fun! Smile

P.S. I can't see where the original post mention the absence of Loyaly cards in their games; maybe they're unlucky and there WAS a Traiotr in their games so far (which would help to explain why they consistently lose with 4 knights).

You are right on both accounts.

It has been so long since there was NOT a Traitor in any of our games that I had completely forgotten that possibility...
