I've never been a big pre-order person, but I would purchase one without a doubt.

Thanks, but no thanks!
I found Memoir '44 a joy to play due to the easy gameplay, simple rules and so on.
Now I suddenly find three expansion sets with more rules and you still want more!
Sorry but my rules-limit have been reached! I don't want to play if I have to read the rules each time a want to make a move!
If I want to play more complex games I could have gone for Adv. Squad Leader! Very Happy

Slotracer, I think you just haven't played M44 enough yet. Once you get thru those first scenarios enough times, I think you'll be wanting more. The scenarios do a good job of introducing 1 or 2 rules at a time, so it's not really that bad. And if you're playing against good people, you help each other out.

I'm playing M44 mainly by PBEM with 3 (now 4) other people. And as new rules are introduced, we end up teaching each other. After a while, they just become more or less second nature. Try it, you'll like it.

You're right.... I haven't been playing enough!!!! Sad
I haven't even got through the first book of scenarios yet though I have had the game for nearly two years now.

You say you play by mail....HOW?????
Sounds interesting, I would like to hear more about it.
I have tried the Vassal version but had a bad PC at that time, so that just stopped. Maybe I should give it another go!

I also used to PBEM with som German guys, but it was the game called "Power: The Game" which is without dice. A gamemaster collected the moves from the four players and sent the result/ a copy of the board made in Excel and we were ready for the next moves. I even got a move named after me: Dictator's bluff!!!!
The German's site was called Battleday.de but they seem to have vanished!!!!
You can find the game here: Power: The Game
I helped the firm translate the rules into Danish and they sent me a new copy of the game!!!! Very Happy

Slotracer,

You experience sounds a lot like mine. I bought the game soon after it came out, but had only played 10 or so FTF games until this past winter.

I'd looked at Vassal many times, but never took the time to figure it out. There was an offer from one of the guys that participates in this discussion group to help people learn how to use Vassal to play by email. The rest is history. I took him up on his offer, and am working toward my 50th game against primarily 3 great opponents.

Vassal has been a life saver for me. I highly recommend giving it another go. I can offer to help if you'd like. I am going to be careful about taking on more players, but helping someone get started just adds to the growing list. Just drop me a PM. And we'll go from there.

As stated before I would order two... I will order two of EVERYTHING, I just want the Carrying Cases - TWO of them - to hold it all!

How long, oh Lord, how long must we wander in the wilderness without carrying cases?!?!

Maybe it's the lack of feedback from DOW... They seem to be going balls out on BL and Colosseum, but we have not been told of anything they have plans for in our area. Outside of a delayed carry case they really have not told us anything they are planning...

I am sorry but if you don't keep up the momentum then you will roll to a stop. Look at the D&D books... Always coming out with something and it has been rolling for how many years??? Now granted M44 will never be the Money maker D&D has been. But DOW does announce new games and they haven't announced anything new for M44 sence the Pacific expansion.

In this world of instant gratification, if you don't stay ahead then...

People will start to lose interest.

Myself, I don't care about a release date... just updates on what is being planned.

Kinda like waiting for dinner... your hungry and if you don't see anything going on in the kitchen, you don't smell anything being cooked, then your gonna go get something to eat from the frig or just pop out for a burger, and then you have spoiled your dinner... or spent your hard earned money on something else instead of saving it for what you really want.

Me... I have a lot of patients, been here in Iraq for a year without any gaming. Not everyone has that much patients.

Fantasy Flight has announced their intention of releasing a North African Expansion (British Exp) for Tide of Iron, here's to hoping DoW beats them to the punch.

British Army would be could specially for the wars between Rommel & Powell in the North of Africa. It woul give a little more use to the desert board as well.

Anyway I am looking forward to any Memoir'44 expansion as so far they have made a great game even better.

Hello Soldier,

Yes, I have personally and for the moment 8 items of all!

So I can organize tournaments for 16 players without they have to bring their boxes!

My goal for 2008 is to have 12 complete sets!

You can tell me in the definitive buys!

For BattleLore I have only 2 sets and stay on this position!
