Some times, real life gets in the way...

That is why you have to enforce a forfeit rule.

Multiple time zones will always be a problem.

And to say the forfeit is not fair? is it fair to wait to play when you should be in bed asleep for work the next day?

Your forum posts have a date and time stamp. Log in, say I am here and waiting. wait an hour then say I was here, and log out.

If they say well I was waiting also... ask where is your post?
no post, no show... game forfeit.

I won't say the forfeit is not fair.

I just think that if you enroll this tournament, that means you must spend some times checking the progress and the info of match. Especially when you have already send a message contacting your opponent, waiting for reply. Because we can't keep online all the time, doing nothing.

Log in, check PM or email, and reply, won't take you more than 20 minutes, right?

If my words let someone get discomfort, sorry about that. Because I'm eager to finish this tournament.

Indeed, it's clear that the deadline has passed with Oros putting in quite some effort with minkor not showing up. I can only conclude that this equals as forfeiting by minkor.

In short, I'll be pairing up new opponents soon, these should be up by monday evening gmt+1. Grab your trenchcoats because it's going to be a long and cold fight.

shouldn't be too long for you to wait- assuming we've got time zones right, semi-final 2 will be played any minute...

ok... seeing as it is winter in Poland, I don't think he is suffering from a heat wave. I suspect he has a fever and may be sick.

I would give him a few days...

Get well my Polish friend.

Wracaj do mojego polskiego przyjaciela.

I hope that translates correctly...

Nope, not heard anything yet

Then you continue to the finals by default!

The game is for a captain's pack and a sergeant's pack for first and second place respectively!

The game is on Arnhem Bridge. I expect a long AAR for both battles, so undust your writing skills.

The deadline is first of March.

Good luck!

Re:M44O King of Beta tournament! Tue, 15 February 2011 21:02
Gairbaldi's Axis forces confronted Jim's Allies at Arnhem

The allies opening Barrage was ineffectual, and a surprising counter attack saw the Paras weakened in the centre. Skillful use of an ambush card on teh axis left saw the Allies creaking, but they rallied with Medics and Mechanics and their artillery began its devastating work.
An Axis tank was the first to make the long bridge crossing, but was wiped out by a Firefight. The infantry probe front the Axis left continued, and picked off a single unit of Paras, but a push from the two axis infantry on their right flank was less successful, and with all artillery guns blazing, the Brits finished another couple of units off for a 5-1 win.

With the roles reversed, there mas much early manouvering which came to little, with the axis advances being pushed back, and the allied losses being restored by the medics.
The axis left tried to repeat the advance with hidden ambush card, but missed their shots. Things were looking grim for the Axis as the Allies unleashed THeir Finest Hour, but a string of Grenades and Flags saw the card fail to produce a single hit.
The Axis began to press home their attacks, claiming the British Paras with infantry on the German left, and the Paras nearest the river with artillery.
A second medics and mechanics proved crucial on the Allied left, restoring a unit to full health, as forces converged on the allied left rear, both axis infantry were wiped out, and even an armour assault arriving over the bridge did only moderate damage.
with the battle in the balance, the axis tried to bring support across the bridge, but could not take out the allied artillery, which destroyed the final infantry unit for a 5-3 victory. Garibaldi had done enough to win the battle, but not the war!

By the way, have you tried sending him a private message? Sometimes people just don't have time to get online when work or life gets crazy, but they'll get an e-mail more quickly...it might be worth a try. Razz
