Crossover Between iPad and Online Fri, 04 December 2015 17:05
Hi,

Tried searching the forums first, but wasn't able to find an answer. I purchased all of the maps through my iPad; I see that games can be played from the iPad or online. However, when I login to DoW and attempt to play a game, it only gives me access to Swiss/Europe/Asia maps.... Can you please help?

Are you talking about Steam on your computer? Or the older Online game?

Thanks.

Hi,
Yes, I was using the "Play" link on the DoW webpage. Should I be downloading a client app through Steam instead?

I'm assuming that purchasing the game through the App Store means that you do not also have to purchase it a second time via Steam...

All,

For those who are interested and, like me, could not find the answer by searching the forums, here is some helpful information:

If you purchase a game on Android or Apple devices, you can NOT use that purchase to download TTR via Steam or online. And vice versa. So YES, you do have to make SEPARATE purchases across platforms. I'm not a big fan of this, but am not tech-savvy enough to refute their claim. More info here:

Yes, unfortunately all of the stores have rules preventing us from giving our fans the game on every platform. For example, Apple won't honor a purchase from Steam for their devices and Steam won't acknowledge a purchase from any other company.

What that means for our customers is that you have to buy the game again for a new platform. Sadly there's no way for us to transfer the game between devices. If you have an iPhone and iPad, your maps will still be available, but not if you're on an iPad and an Android phone or something like that.

does STEAM have the version for iOS? What games can you play there in general? You mean there are copies of computer games in portative form?

Only the Apple App Store can provide apps for iOS.

Steam is a gaming platform which provides Ticket to Ride for OS X and Windows. You have to run the Steam app on your computer in order to play Ticket to Ride.
