1 Breakthrough (!!!)
2 Overlord (with distance)
3 Standard Size (unimportant in my opinion)

1. preprinted breakthrough
2. preprinted overlord
3. preprinted standard.

although what I'd REALLY like to see is complete French and Italian armies, but perhaps those ideas could be combined? Cool

I've been ninja in the last months, but here's my answer

BT
OL
ST, though I think I prefer an official tool so everybody is able to print these. Maybe an update to the editor tool?

Thanks

Twisted Evil I agree with the priority here. Wonder if the print it yourself model is practical? I would use that, probably. But sturdy versions from DOW probably will hold up better?

P.S. Any way to know if the supply lines for expansions will be getting improved soon? The options for many of them seem to be dwindling!!!

Just askin'! Thanks, Don

Hi Mr. Borg!

1) Overlord (or extended Overlord like "market garden")
2) Single board (or extended/enlarged)
3) Breaktrough (or extended breaktrough)

Thanks

Hi Richard,

Do you remember me ? I was your driver in your Normandy trip in 2011 (Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc and the US cemetery in Saint Laurent) and I was proud to show you these places.

Standards scenarios, Overlord or Breakthrough size, the choice is not so important. The important thing is that the Memoir'44 community is waiting for something new and official (it means, from you !)

We are all your fans, me too, I hope you know that.

So, do the best, as usual, and we will be pleased, anyway !

Thank you , Richard.
Sincerely, Smile

Jacques (Jdrommel).

Of course I remember. The visit to Normandy, well to me, It is still one of my best life experiences.

There is something just around the corner for the Memoir '44 community. We have to show a little more patience since DoW is now under the Asomdee umbrella.

However, I can tell you, and this may get me into some hot water, the expansion has everything the community can imagine. This is really a very bold and exciting expansion, there are printed full size Overlord maps, there are printed full size Breakthrough maps and there are a good number of standard size scenarios. All of these are part of a neat campaign that pits two unlikely WWII opponents against each other. The game play is great, the scenarios are great and the Days of Wonder team is in the process of turning out another beautiful expansion.

I really cannot say when this expansion will actually reach the market place, but I will caution everyone that is currently a Memoir fan, that when it does come out, if the expansion does not sell well enough very quickly, there is going to be some concern.

Thanks for the years of fun and Enjoy!

A campaign with preprinted maps. Now your talking!

Unlikely opponents:
Could it be the Brazillians fighting the Italians?

Well, the French did fight the Italians which are the two sets of minis i still want most, but i doubt those few battles offer enough material for pre- printed maps and a campaign.

The Poles would also be a nice set of minis, perhaps against the Germans at Monte Cassino, or in 1939 against the Russians. Then again, both cases would hardly qualify as "unlikely opponents"...

For now, either the Poles, Italians or French would suffice.

This is a concerning 'shot across the bows' and suggests, along with Richard's sign-off, that Memoir's future may be under question. I hope the expansion gets the support of this community and wider gamers.

I didn't realize that Memoir was on a potential death watch. I wonder how many they need to sell to continue with new expansions. I hope they meet their projections because the next expansion(after this one) Richard is thinking about is terrific.

You guys are pretty astute so I bet you might know who the opponents are in the upcoming campaign expansion.

They are many ways to improve the game in "expert mode" Its depend on R.Borg. Basic game and improved game mode.

Was so disappointed by "equipment pack" that I hope they do another one better made!!

Wait for the new expansion of course like many other fans.

Mr. Borg, thanks a lot for the heads up and the openness of your post.

We (my gaming group) weren't aware at the high stakes Memoir'44 is right now. However, let me tell you we have played countless scenarios, umpteen campaigns and spent hundreds of hours enjoying the game. It's by a landslide the game most played ever in our group.

So do not hesitate, we will support once more your game buying several copies of the upcoming expansion. Hopefully you won't introduce new map formats and you'll keep the well known ones: OL and BT mainly.

In my humble opinion and even though the D-Day Landings introduced interesting mechanics such as the Reinforcements, the size of the preprinted maps prevented a lot of fans buying the expansion.

But we're sure Memoir 44 upcoming expansion will be a hit and it will become very popular.

Thanks again for your frankness.

Deeply another extension ! that is a good new !

and it would be good that there is finally one with 12 markers(with 2 faces : 1 for movement and the other for firing as in irl official tournament)

Im thinking more along the lines of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battles_of_Khalkhin_Gol (1939)
There seems to be a number of clashes taking place that seem to increase in scope (so to me fits in well with standard, BT and OL forming a campaign)

Also seeing the armoured car and tankett? makes me feel like it will be early in the war

I thought of that possibility too... though Richards comment " two unlikely WWII opponents " made me think again since there are official scenarios out there of these "opponents" but I don't recall seeing any official scenarios with Russians vs Japanese

Then again I could be way off the mark too...

Ok now im almost convinced its the Russians vs Japanese in 1939 due to the song Antoine links here https://www.daysofwonder.com/en/msg/?th=32856&start=0

about Russian tanks fighting the samurai

I still think this. 1939 wasn't big enough to make a whole set of battles into a full expansion.

I thought that could be too.. though all the clues seem to be pointing to an earlier time.

As well as all the other things I have pointed out

the song is about the 1939 campaign

Also Molotov cocktails were famously used by the Japanese in 39 to supposedly destroy a 100 or so Russian tanks

I also had the same feeling but after reading through the basic outline there are some 2 to 3 months of skirmishes and clashes, with the larger battles having stages that could be depicted in separate scenarios

I know form personal experience there is more than enough material to make a campaign out of the Winter War. We did only six scenarios for the 2016 Dutch Open, but there was a lot more material to cover. Smile

if interested loof in the SFTF scenarios and search for Dutch Open 2016 Wink

Might be interesting to set up a poll on what campaign people think the new expansion will cover.

Just need to get a list of the top contenders, the 3 that came to mind when looking through the hints in the forums (and others have predicted)

Khalkhin Gol campaign 1939 (Russia vs Japan)

Manchuria campaign 1945 (Russia vs Japan)

Winter war 1939 (Russia vs Finland)

I think I have let it known what I think its going to be from my past posts but if anyone have any other solid contenders based off the clues provide in this forum and BGG just list them here and then we can set up a poll soon and see how close the community was.

Possibly Russia vs Poland in 1939?? Would be great as that might include a full-fledged Polish army...
