Scenarios From The Front Question Sat, 17 December 2016 21:59
Hi

Today I created my second scenario to put up online and when I put it such that other people could play it online, my first scenario no longer was showing in the list of SFTF in the online game.

So is it that you can only have one scenario in the online game at a time? If that is the case, then I'd wish that Days of Wonder would do something to increase the number that you can have online.

I have some more ideas for scenarios, that are in some of the expansions, which would be playable online, and so I'd like to put them up as SFTF and potentially use them in the Memoir 44 World Cup. So I'd like to have multiple of them online at the same time.

Matthew:

Sorry, the rule is one scenario per person at a time. It applies across the board, and I doubt that they will change it anytime soon. The only way to get more than one of your scenarios up at a time is to have someone else sponsor one of them.

Thanks for confirming that.
Though looking at the SFTF that are online, this following users have multiple scenarios online: jdrommel, FFM44, Junior72, and Merlinade.

So I'm not sure why they are able to put up multiple ones, while everyone else is restricted to one.

JDrommel is a scenario designer who has had several of his scenarios published by DoW. (for instance many of the scenarios in the breakthrough expansion) Many of the official scenarios in the military archives on the website are by his hand. Especially in recent years, he's made more of them than Richard himself.
That's why he probably can host more than 1 scenario.

FFM44 is the French Federation of Memoir 44. They were the first to organise large scale Memoir tournaments. They work in close collaboration with DoW.

The other two are also renowned french speaking players and tournament organisers.

The general rule is that people can only host 1 scenario. Some people get exceptional permission to host more of them for a particular reason. I think you'd have to contact Antoine for this.

The reason for this limit is that they want you to put up your best scenario only, and have a natural way of filtering out the lesser ones. If you have several good ones, you can do like some players, and rotate between your different good scenarios.

Hello,
I can put only one scenario online as every other players. But some people who organized online tournaments can host my scenarios. That's the reason why you find several scenarios with my name. Be sure I have no special permission from DoW (but I would like).

Thanks for responding, jdrommel.

I guess I'll have to find some people who are willing to host my scenarios.

Valentin de Ramillies has said he's willing, provided someone reminds him on how to do that.

I'm also wondering how people can host your scenarios.

First, they have to have access to the editor. So they have to have bought at least one captain or major pack of gold ingots.

You can make the scenario, and save the file. It will have a .m44 extension.
Send that file by mail to the person who's hosting your scenario.

The person needs to open the editor. Open your scenario. Set the status to public. Save it on DoW website, and press open from DoW online and on that screen mark it as the scenario they want to host.

Thanks for outlining the whole procedure on how to host scenarios.

I had also posted in the French forums, and Danjou gave the instructions on how to send the file.

Danjou and Valentin de Ramillies have both said that they're willing to host. So if I could find a few other players who are willing to host, then I'll be able to get a number of these scenarios online.
