I was hoping they were going to announce that with the carrying case for M'44 they were going to release a British North African/MED expansion, complete with British Mini's.
But who knows a Big Foot game could be cool.

That would be just about my fondest desire for a new game. I've always had a soft spot for fantasy battle games. The idea of getting Richard Borg's fantasy version of the C&C system with DoW's production values and support...

Further speculation is running rampant on BoardGameGeek.com. quite a few others are putting out there that they believe DOW does have the rights to C&C: Fantasy and the name of the game will be "Battle Lore" In fact, a Yahoo group has formed called BattleLoreDOW!

Good friend Frank Branham has just mailed me this link to the US trademark system:

With "Battlelore" made a trademark for DoW and the BattleloreDOW Yahoo!Group it seems impossible to get around the fact that we finally are getting the C&C fantasy system.
I just hope this won't take too much time away from the production of Memoir'44 expansions...

My question is, why have DOW been so secretive about the game? I'd think that early information would create buzz and sell more games in the long run.
If Battlelore is indeed the Bigfoot, I can't wait! I would love to see any new Command and Colors game, and I think fantasy would be a popular choice with roleplayers and CCGers.

Surely something to do with the Napoleonic period would have done better. I know fantasy is big, but M44 is a war game. It has been so successful I can't help but feel that branching out into 'Fantasy' is a bit of a gamble. Battlecry, also a wargame, was very popular too.
Hopefull RB will keep the M44 expansions coming and use his undoubted talent to provide us with a Napoleonic masterpiece!!!

speaking of plastic... I'm hoping that the minis are pre painted. The mini shown on the blog isn't painted, but I hope the final product is. I'd hate to have to buy a set of painted minis (shadows over camelot)... but I would!
