Days of Wonder Announces New Ticket to Ride Map Collection Volume 7 - Japan
Also includes the Italy map
Paris, France – September 10, 2019. Today, Days of Wonder announced the upcoming release of the seventh volume of the Ticket to Ride Map Collection - Japan & Italy, which has the longest board of all the Map Collections and contains Bullet Train miniatures.
Zoom across Japan in a bullet train admiring Mount Fuji through the mist or take the Tokyo subway to your final destination. Or if you prefer early 20th century steam engine trains, ride through the italian countryside, enjoy the alpenglow on majestic peaks and sunsets behind cypress hedges in glorious Tuscan landscapes.
As the Japan board offers some cooperative gameplay, players face a new dilemma. Some of the Routes are reserved for the Bullet Train network, so once one of those routes is claimed, it can be used by all players to complete Destination Tickets. On the other hand, the players who contribute most to this shared project will also be rewarded with a larger bonus. Italy, the second map featured in this expansion, is focused on the Regions in this country and on a brand new type of Ferry Route. Connect cities from all Regions in the same network to score extra points.
"With this expansion, players will discover two very big maps. However, while Italy does really play big, Japan feels very fast and small because of the Bullet train variation. I hope that means it has something for everyone!" says Alan R. Moon designer of the game.
This expansion is designed for 2-5 players and includes 1 oversized double-sided board. The Japan map contains 16 Bullet Train miniatures and associated Progression Markers, 54 Destination Ticket cards and 1 Rules booklet. The Italy map includes 56 Destination Tickets cards, 10 Ferry cards and 1 Rules booklet. Both of these maps require the trains and the train car cards from either Ticket to Ride® or Ticket to Ride®Europe. The game is expected to be available at Spiel ‘19 in Essen, Germany, in November in Europe and in January in North America at a suggested retail price of $40/40€.
