NC - schedule for KO? Sat, 20 October 2007 23:46
Hi TDs,

don't want to mess up the official thread, so I open a new one.

What's the schedule for the knockout stage?
Group winners choose their opponents until???
(Suggestion: Monday, 29th - one day should be enough to decide, teams can start discussing possibilities NOW)
Lineup for QF until???
(Suggestion: Wednesday, 31st - to keep up with the normal schedule)
QF games to be played until???
Lineup SF until???
...
expected date for final?

--------

Ok, there's still time - but it would be good to know that soon.
If we don't know the deadlines in time, a tight schedule won't work (you can't ask teams for a decision one day before you like to have the answer) and the NC will last ages (as last year).

HMMMMMM no one answered - is this due to you writing with small letters whilst some start to type their posts in huge letters? or just because it is an austrian question??? Very Happy

getting back to regular size - you are right - and it is important to all the other teams that go on into the next round:

when do we have to send our next lineups in? Is that clear to all of you but dea and me???? (wow dea - maybee we really are the only ones .... )

someone has to set up a scedule or pull it out of the rules - I didn`t find it clearly there.

we need:
1. deadline for groupwinners to pick their opps

2. deadline for lineup

3. deadline for games of KO-round 1 to be played

oops dea - repeating what you said - maybee we can get an answer now ?

I propose:

1. Monday, October 29th

2. Wednesday, October 31st

3. Wednesday, November 7th

As it's best out of 7, the matches can take some time, so 1 week should it be.

P.S. it's not all about letter size Masimo... but weekends are weekends...

I KNOW weekend is weekend

I was just adressing the inflation in gigantomania in the posts Smile

To me it seems very little time for the ko- round?

May I propose another time frame? :

1. Winners choose until Tuesday 30th October

2. deadline for lineup (quarterfinal) till Thursday 1. November

3. games to be played till Friday 9th of November

4. next lineup (Semifinal) Sunday 11th of November

5. games to be played till Sunday 18th of November

6. next lineup (Final) Wednesday 21th of November

7. games to be played till Sunday 2nd of December

it would be great if the teams in the final could arrange theit games on one of the two weekends.

just a proposal - but it gives us a little more time, especially as it is bo7 now?

well, if you think, and I am addressing this to Masimo now, as nobody else is responding (everyone seems to be focused on sausages...), the dates you proposed Masimo, are set.
I will post them in the Organisational Thread and yes it's bo7.

No I am not focused on sausages

I just didn't feel I needed to respond to my own thread and confirm that I am happy to see that the TD proposed my suggestions. Rolling Eyes

Masimo's idea and thus the decision is fine as well.

And I have no problem with being 'nobody' - after all 'nobody is perfect' Laughing

Idea for coming Monday and Tuesday evening, between end of Round Robin and begining of KO, some side event to Nation Cup :

Quick tournaments (16 players: easy to organize)

1. CAPTAINS QT : with the 16 team captains
2. HEROES QT: with the 16 best round robin player (1 by team)

A lot of supporters in the lobby, a lot of fun.

Great ideas Toutone!!Very Happy

I think the Heroes tournament has more chance of every team taking part. If the best is unavailable, then maybe the second best...

If there is a Captain's event, I would definitely play - either day is fine.

Stephan

ps: Schedule looks good to me

Hi

There will be a time coming when the next NC starts one week after the previous NC Rolling Eyes Really, has someone noticed that we started begin of september and we will end in december... But currently it is the only good solution so i vote for

YES

For me Captains QT = Heroes QT Twisted Evil

Nice idea but both days are the days i am most of the time away. However i can create a small QT tournament for organisation if this is necessary. I also suggest to play a Best of Three QT (we have only 16 players).

bye, erps

I think we need to be as simple as possible for such quick event.
15 games for a tournament.

If a captain is not available, he can be replaced by a TD (Thadd, Shamogi).

If a heroe is not available, he can be replaced by his lieutnant.

If some don't want to participate, no problem we have some "bye" in first round.

I can PM invitation to all the concerned players, 9PM CEST is i think the best.
But we would need erps tool to fix registration and matches.

I will personnally not be available next week, so if somebody wants to lead the QT in live it would be great.

why not make a mix of both? every team names one player who is the representative of that team ... and maybe the best tournament player of the team in their eyes? so it's a single and a team tournament Wink
cu, chris

by the way: the proposal of the dates and deadlines for the following rounds are ok Smile

Please do (not everyone might read this thread).
And yes, good time.

NCZ-chrismmm87 schrieb am Thu, 25 October 2007 13:53

why not make a mix of both?

Because
not all captains are heroes (hi erps)
and even if they are - per Zeno's leaderboard? - they might not consider themselves as the best tournament player of their team (and bye erps Wink )

A Team Tournament with one player by round was more fun but if the idea is not good why not a captain tournament...

i explain my idea :

16 team = 16 player in 1/8eme (and totaly random ? why not Razz )

For White TGV, if RFAD play and win, in 1/4 he can't play and TEE play and if he win, Sirius play in 1/2 and if he win Nicole play the final...

The difficult was : the best player in first round or in "reserve" for the last round Wink
