Sysyphus and his sponsors Fri, 30 October 2009 15:39
Some interesting "events" and "decisions" - some will only call them coincidences - that led to Sysyphus reaching the top:

1.) Sysyphus usually played multis against people who would not think of blocking him to prevent him from winning a multi-game. Onyx, Robin, ommie etc. are well-known for rarely blocking opponents - even more so when it comes to Sysy I would guess. All of them did not really make it difficult for him to win a game by acting this way and may be they even hoped for him to reach his goal. Not blocking a player in a multi who keeps 3 tickets from the start and sometimes draws even more later on while having been given the opportunity to connect the crucial "ticket-destination-cities" without a problem is nothing else but presenting this player with a "free ride" to winning the game.

2.) Sysyphus evaded players like psteinx, hecki or colo who are well-known for a non-benevolent playing style (also in multis).

3.) Lately his games took part (predominantly) against 1650+ players to minimize the risk of losing too many points when only reaching 2nd or 3rd place. Usual 1500+ games were not frequently played by him any longer.

BUT all of this is NOT yet a reason to take away from him the merits he deserves for reaching the top playing predominantly multi games.

HOWEVER, one thing surely is something that has to be criticized. But this does not directly concern Sysyphus as he only profited from this situation. It rather corresponds to Whitetrain:

Whitetrain usually wins at least 16-17 out of 20 games when playing 2pl games. This can be seen while studying his profile. This statistics is only sliightly different when taking into account some losses against top players in the 2pl department. He keeps a score of 1780 to 1800 points easily. If he does not have close to 1800 points someone else (e.g. Schwen) has them. Reaching the top with 1760 points is rather the exception... but Sysyphus managed to do exactly this.

In the last days Whitetrain "coincidentally" lost a lot of games even against rather unknown opponents dropping around 50 points in the score system. This miraculously goes along with Sysyphus reaching the top with no real own effort as he just profits from Whitetrain's "period of weakness/bad luck" while keeping his 1760 points from a few days ago.

NOONE will ever be able to proof it...but for my taste these sudden losses of whitetrain happened a bit too fast and too often in CONTRAST to his usual statistics.

Just a brief example to illustrate this: From the beginning of October till October 28nd (the first 4 weeks of October) whitetrain played 47 games and only lost 5 (!!!) games of them.

Then Sysyphus got a serious chance for the top while ranking 2nd place at this time. And "o wonder"...whitetrain plays 90 (!!!) games in 2 days (29th and 30th October [today] so far...he is still playing) and loses 33 of them. Especially the losses on October 29th were extraordinary (19 games and 9 losses...almost every 2nd game...I will present a prize to someone who finds a similar period of losses in whitetrain's statistics in the course of the last 2 years concerning 2pl games).

I hope that you already signed a sponsorship-contract with Sysyphus, Felix...because now it will be too late to fetch some money for this "charity". Laughing

Greetings to all

Dennis

PS: Please just comment on the statistics I present here. After all, there is the serious possibility that everything what happened is only coincidence. I WILL NOT deny this option. But some things look a bit "strangely". This is all I want to say.

PPS: Congratulations nevertheless, Sysy...you are a lucky coward, but at least you are a funny one.

Dennis,

many of the posts you have written in this forum should have never been written at all. This is just another one of those.

I guess you will probably delete it soon anyway, but here is what I think about your post above.

You have tried quite hard to achieve a similar goal, but you never succeeded and did not even get close. It is hard to reach rank #1 overall. So kudos to Sysy and all the others who have been #1 before.

Without any chance to reach this high goal you went for something which appeared to be easier. You wanted to become #1 on the EU map. But you also failed to reach this goal which frustrated you and finally you ended up cheating.

What kind of satisfaction does this give to you?

Now you cannot even stand when others reach the goal you were not able to reach. You are jealous and you denigrate Sysy who reached this goal by using his very good skill to play this fantastic game that we all love. He did not use his skill to cheat, that he might have, too. There is not much skill needed for cheating anyway, but you are even lacking that.
At least when you cheated on me it was so obvious that any spectator could tell that you were watching both my tix and colors during the game.

In the end you even believe that Felix lost on purpose to make Sysys way to the top possible. This is pathetic.

This is all I have to say for now!
Get well soon!

Regards R.

How, Rufuz, do you explain 9 losses in 19 games concerning Whitetrain?

That never happened before in the course of the last 2 years.

ALL coincidence?

Try to see the facts and not only the person presenting the facts.

Dennis

PS: I never even had the goal of reaching no. 1 (overall), just in EU...and I reached this goal fairly and squarely winning against hundreds of players who were lower ranked than me while I even played these games closed covering the few occassions where someone higher ranked than me entered those EU 2pl games. I m happy with that achievement and predominantly play other games now. The cheating concerned a totally different time-period which is well-known as well. Ask people I know about my goal only concerning the EU map and they will confirm that if you dont believe it. I have talked about it often enough in private skype sessions, also with Sysyphus. You might still believe him, won't you?

PPS: Jealousy is something I don't feel very often and certainly not because of an online-game where you can't even win money when being a good player. Anger and a proclivity for criticism and (sometimes) provocation are rather my domain.

Now that I think about it again:

Whitetrain also let me win even 3 times in a row yesterday.
First he wins twice and makes me feel safe thinking "he takes my points like always. Good ol' Felix"
But then, all of a sudden, he lets me win three times in a row giving back to me even more points than he had won in the games before.
And without knowing and without wanting I became part of the big complot that was initiated to get Sysy to the top. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Yes Trucker,

it is also my new favorite thread as you can see since I posted three times wihtin one hour.

@Dennis:
It is very easy for me to explain those 9 losses in 19 games:
3 of those losses were against me. Smile
Had Felix played me more often in the past this would happen to him all the time!! Rolling Eyes

Hoping for more interesting comments here!

yes i have to say it out loud...

i played one 2p vs sysy and he lost...but then i changed it to unranked in order to save his score.

Now Sysy has to hear my brand name above the Num 1!!! of his shirt

Dennis should have played Felix to let his score high Laughing

I played multis whenever i wanted to...They were not so many because of NC. I just picked the moments when I wanted to play that's all...

Every time i played against Robin those last 2 weeks, I got killed (and he was low at the moment, think he was plotting with you... Twisted Evil )

You forgot to quote Eva, Tom, BW, EPO, Boman etc.. and all others that plotted against you..

That's right, Colo & Hecki have played so many games lately... I even had to phone them to let their computer off.

Even White TGV's and Elric took my points off when i was higher (1781)...

I asked Geoff yesterday to kill me 3 times in a row in 2er to lower my score to offer you one more argument about "how amzingly low is your score as a number 1'...

I don't have any relationships with White Train apart from the lobby... I even asked him why he's been playing so many games..Maybe we have a full fridge in common, suspicious... Rolling Eyes

Don't know what you need. But thx again for the laughs as usual.

Can't wait for the best-of !!!! Hope you'll find some sponsors !! Ask Truck, he'll gladly help !

Wow...Sysy reaches #1 and Dennis posts a big congratulatory post...oh wait that wouldn't work as then the attention would all be on Sys! How extremely lucky we all are to get more of Dennis' incessant whining, crying and jealousy...yes, extreme jealousy. So unbelievably pathetic and ridiculous. Somehow the first thing all of us will think about after having read this thread is how strange the statistics are...What an interesting find Dennis!!!! Rolling Eyes

In regards to the comments on 'avoiding' players...go check the history again as these criticisms are sadly misinformed. Some of us actually play the game with people we enjoy spending time with...instead of seeking to destroy others simply because they possibly might reach #1!

Go crawl back in your gof hole Dennis...and let us play in peace. Razz

Oh, and thx for the Benevolent lable...will help me when i do decide to block! Twisted Evil

Didnt i pick a fantastic moment to make this all happen. What a magnificent timing, i am marvelling about myself over and over. I had so much fun Laughing losing all those games, because i knew Dennis would bite into his keyboard when i borrow Sysy the Nr1 spot. I was laughing soo loud that my wife woke up last night, so that i finally could go to bed and let her lose the rest of the games. Laughing Laughing Laughing

So Dennis please dont blame me, the main part was done by my wife.

I didn't even spot this at first, but as my Fantasy Team Sink Or Swim is getting killed by dea, I'm gonna go for this mistery prize !

On the 2nd and 3rd of August 2009 Whitetrain lost 14 out of 23, starting with An-Team, ending with pegaso. Just to be certain, he even played a multi ! How strange. If this is not good enough for a prize, I will add some name dropping and make use of red letters. Maybe that will help my case:

You just left the gof game and did not return, Nayeli....but you started a new gof game while I continued the game with other players after waiting a bit. As it is usually done in GOF. Your decision to leave and not return. No prob there. In GOF the other players do not leave when someone gets botted and does not return. You play on. You know that. It's common habit there. If this was "cheating" GOF would consist of 95 % cheaters...lol.

Maybe some real GOF-players should comment here to confirm the different playing habit of GOF before TTR players who never or hardly ever played a game of GOF comment on the matter.

But really - the hardest task I ever had was to force Angel into not playing EU games for more than 15 days, so that monstarmaster could make it to #1 on EU Laughing Laughing Laughing

First, you "real" number 1 in Eu, it was MY game! I opened it and at that time we had not the "ignore feature". U joined, had the multi 1 and started directly. 3 players, me included, left and what did you want? You wanted to know why I don't want ya in my game. One answer and you would not play ahead. Thats what you promised. And you knew, I did not want to play with you. But Dennis, in fact, the game wasn't really important to me, which you won btw. - not that difficult against 2 bots. ( for the others, one player joined the game again, as he saw Dennis still playing).

As the old saying goes...hope dies last, hm? Too bad, there is no hope for you.
Dennis, you are a liar, a cheater, a whiner and complainer. To want to be everbody's darling is stupid. Also to want to be everybody's fool. But thats what you are, a fool. I feel sorry for you and I always will.

Reaching the top with 1760 points is rather the exception... but Sysyphus managed to do exactly this.

Erps ran to the club of #1s with 1751 (lowest #1 ever)...

Dennis, there may be a reason or two why Sys was on #2 and several players in the club of #1s received this honour by "waiting"... so what!? Was it his mistake? And seeing Mr Black Bus losing 9/19 is what!? The breakdown of mother earth for you?

I know that you dont have a clou of how hard it is to reach #1 and remain there but accept that there are lots of faaaar better players than you...

Congrats Sys on No1 and what a nice fellow too.
Smile
Players climb the ranks sometimes using a speciality like 1910 or Swiss or just a few (lol) playing 2 player but you mate take the chancy route of multi so often.

You may not be the best 2 player, who cares. You may not stay there very long who cares. But you did it well done.
But you are one of the nicest players in ttr and someone i always enjoy a game and a laugh with.
If only Dennis was just a little bit like you.

Well done mate thoroughly deserved on your own merit thank goodness White train is not invincibal. I am sure he doesn't care one little bit he has dropped to no 2 but thank goodness someone cares ay Dennis.

A quick funny story.
I was playing gof the other day and Dennis's game came up advertised Ironhorse1. I took that he was requesting i joined so i did . On that occasion i thrased him and won.
The next game was advertised "Pfffff Ironhorse1."

What a thoroughly nice bloke you are Dennis a man with many qualities i will name a few. Cynic, Judge of others, Cheat, Critical, constant bad sport, scene stealer, and thats on a good day.

i actually like playing you in GOF because you dont talk. Have you thought of making that permanent.

Does it really matter how someone gets to No 1. Its a game not a war some are just better than others like all things in life who cares just enjoy.

O i forgot well done White train for letting Sys get there what a gentlemen and all the rest of you for letting Sys have your points.

What a conspiracy Mel Gibson eat your heart out!

This is really a big cheating deal. Today i found the proof: Sysy was never No. 1.

Mr. Bean and his Fantasy Team are evil !

Seems Toutoune's fantasy team is even more evil than Bean's Smile , but that's beside the point.

I will quote again: "I will present a prize to someone who finds a similar period of losses in whitetrain's statistics in the course of the last 2 years concerning 2pl games"

What's my prize Dennis ?! I haven't found a signed monstarmaster t-shirt in my mail yet. It took me 20 clicks through WT's history to counter your quasi-convincing argument, yet you've gone off to some lame GOF discussion with Nay and your own motivations with regards to the Europe map. Stick to the point, mr. know-it-all, I want my prize!

Though, as I recently told Sysy, I am no man's sponsor Twisted Evil, a little bird recently alerted me to the fact that truckerkiller has four concurrent no. 1's just at present (but likely to change any minute, eh, Sysy?? Wink )

Overall
2 player
USA
Europe (which we know is meaningless, anyway Rolling Eyes)

Grats, T2!!! And hey, it only took two years! Very Happy

And here is a recent photo of our esteemed colleague hard at work and just recently taken by his 'longrouter' brother-in-law, so we KNOW it's authentic. Those of you who are lucky enough to have met tellustrucker in the flesh will surely recognize him Shocked.

Feeling very disappointed about thread's development. I hoped Dennis would comment on my losses to let Truck number one on the USA. I don't offer any prize for the one who finds a losing streak like this though .But I want a Truck's T shirt too now Smile. Ok, time to kick Truck from number 1 USA. Brb.

Comments, comments !

I easily understand your disappointment, Sysy! I, too, thought he had less hair than you! Who knew??

As for the shirt, it looks like this:

I have neither posted nor read any of the forum threads in months and months. Guess tonight was special. I will say this ommie.

Dennis' thread was done MUCH MUCH better than his threads used to be and was fairly logical and reasonable at least. I for one am SOOOOOOOOOOO grateful for the improvement that I am perfectly o.k. with his original post. As long as he is improving I say leave the poor guy alone......

Maybe this will be my last post ever....who knows?

@ Truckerteller:

You are right concerning the "streak" you mention (2nd and 3rd August 2009). However, to be precise whitetrain played 45 games during these 2 days (all in all) and won 24 of them while losing 21...so he won the majority of games taking into account ALL games he played during these days and not just some of them...

But I will accept this streak as similar to the losing streak mentioned by me.

As I guess that you are not willing to give me your private address to send the price there I will make an offer to you. You can visit the next game's fayre in Essen and will get a price there...

Maybe a board game if you like.

Greetings

Dennis
