moving up after making it to Colonel Thu, 21 June 2012 13:20
dear Officers, herewith a quick question i have been asking myself for sometime now. I made it to colonelon the 1st april, played all boards again ( starting from my promotion date ) after a long slog i won all sides and fronts at least once. So, here is my question, what are the requirements to move up in rank ? I won 139 out of 228 battles.
Does one have to play more Expert games or just the official scenario`s ? Difficult to info on any forum

thanks, greetings and untill we meet on the battlefield

Winning each battles on each side after your last promotion was already good. We think it is a requirement.

There is also: playing 250 battles after your last promotion.

And: play against alot of cadets after your last promotion.

To be promoted from Colonel to Brigadier you have to play (and win) SFTF scenarios. (And then play a standard scenario to be promoted.)

No-one can give you an exact number of wins required nor which scenarios as it has varied for different Brigadiers.

I played 194 SFTF as Colonel winning 106 before promotion.
I had 56 distinct SFTF wins (wins in different scenarios) and 16 scenarios where I won both sides.

The results are different for other players and AFAIK no definite pattern has been found.

I am going for 10 wins as each side on at least 5 different maps on every front.

Seems a reasonable place to start

From the Brig thread it appears that Winning all the Standard scenarios again was not considered part of it, nor that much has been mentioned about playing cadets

Sorry ... should avoid posting when tired and should read more carefully before posting. I gave the requirements to become a colonel.

For general, it is indeed something with playing alot of (different) SFTF scenarios. But there seems to be more ... still a mystery.

dear all,

thank you very much for the feedback. It is what i thought it would be, not easy to find out the requirements, DOW keeps it a well hidden mistery, but this means playing more battles on both official and SFTF boards Smile
So keeping your 'tips and tricks' in mind i am off to my next battle.

thanks and untill we meet on the battlefield

As Colonel focus on SFTF battles. Play a standard scenario after each 10 SFTF wins to see if you've earnt your promotion.

Don't just play one SFTF scenario repeatedly. Play many, move on to another after winning.

Have fun.
