Expert mode

Hi,
I was thinking to buy the Captain pack and gain access to the Expert mode.
But before this I have some questions:
1) How many people have access to the Expert mode?
2) How many maps are playable?
2.1) How many maps are official?
Thanks.

Lots of people...enough that you should usually be able to find an opponent.

Again, lots! There are plenty of maps available though it's not always easy to tell if they are good battles unless they are rated by other people who have played them. Even some low-rated battles can be pretty good, but it's hit-and-miss.

Do you mean how many are copies of official scenarios? Because the whole point of the Expert mode is that they are not official scenarios.
I hope this helps!

The questions have been answered so I'll just add my 2 cents, for what they're worth: if you like this game, go for Expert mode. Among my 5 favorite maps, there are 3 Scenarios From The Front (playable under Expert).

I would agree...the Expert Mode can offer you hours more fun. Plus you'll get a chance to create your own masterpieces and post them for other people to battle through! I would say that Expert Mode is a great choice.

Thx, I'll do.
And after my promotion (Major) I want to try some new maps to test my skills once more.

I think you'll be glad if you have access to Expert Battles. Don't forget that you can't earn any of the achievements while playing Expert Battles.
Have fun!

Very true! But if one of your single figure Infantry Units survive 24 dice rolls, don't expect to get an achievement for it because those are only earned in Normal mode.

And if you want to play in some of the online tournaments (like the Med one we have going) you have to have expert mode.
Also:
If you don't play STFT you will find yourself playing and learning the same maps. This is good, but you will not get the learn the skills in "reading" a map you have only just seen that you need in Face to Face and tournament play where you might not know what you are going to play when you turn up

I couldn't agree more with the above! I found myself in the same STFT tourney as a last minute replacement and up against the author of the scenario, went in blind for the most part, very enjoyable and exciting battle and a break from the norm, very much worth the price of admission!
