2nd tournament - 3rd round Sun, 19 June 2005 00:33
We have seven of the top eight ranked players left (+ Jac_). The next rounds should be great!

Please schedule your third round games now. Good luck!

This, folks, is why we seed. These matchups are all fantastic, and even Cinderella Jac in there for a little spice after pulling the upset. Cool

Re:2nd tournament - 3rd round Mon, 20 June 2005 21:39
After 3 games played: pilke 3-0 Jac_

1st game
pilke: Boston-Miami, Montreal-New Orleans, tickets: 25, 110
Jac_: NY-LA, Chicago-LA, tickets: 21-16=5, longest route 10, 92

I tryed to block Jac in the west. It slowed her down and she didn't have time to go to Chicago. Blocking cost me the longest route.

2nd game
pilke: Duluth-Houston, SSM-Oklahoma City, tickets: 17, 117
Jac_: Vancouver-Santa Fe, Denver-El Paso, tickets: 13-4=9, longest route 10, 107

Jac_ was faster taking the 6 gray we both wanted, so she managed to get the longest route.

3rd game
pilke: NY-Dallas, Pittsburgh-Denver, tickets: 22, longest route 10, 118
Jac_: Vancouver-Santa Fe, Duluth-Houston, 13-8=5, 95

Jac_ was faster taking the 6 green we both wanted, so I changed my route and it turned out well. I took faster the 6 orange and that cost Jac_ the other ticket.

Re:2nd tournament - 3rd round Tue, 21 June 2005 19:47
Pilke 4-0 Jac_

4th game
pilke: Winnipeg-Houston, Seattle-LA, tickets: 12-9=3, longest route 10, 111
Jac_: Pittsburgh-Denver, Duluth-El Paso, 8-11=-3, 97

Weird game. I needed black so I lifted about 50 cards, but got only two of them. I desided to give up the other ticket. Fortunately Jac didn't make the other ticket either.

OK - folks - that's it for me for this tournament

Osamu 4 - Womble 0

I played my worst games ever and Osamu played great - his wins are all OK... (it's a pity for me)

1st game: 119-108
I had Seattle-LA and Van-Mon. Osamu had Mon-New Orleans and Boston-Miami. He got longest route and the win.

2nd game: 106-96
I had Helena-LA nad Chicago-St. Fe. He had Winnipeg-Houston and Chicago-New Orleans.
Here again longest route went to Osamu and the game to him.

3rd game: 123-101
From here I believe we have creenshots which Osamu took.
I screwed the game in the Montreal region and therefore lost.

4th game: 94-86
Forgot to note down the tickets. Both Osamu and me did not finish both tickets. He won - taking longest route.

Osamu - you are the best I ever met in building longest routes. Usually I have those myself, but against you I did not manage one single time.

Congratulations again and good luck for the next rounds.

P.S. I want to play with you again... one day I will win Wink

Optimus? Is that you?

Wernerus and I are going to play -- and hopefully finish the round -- this weekend.

I'm not sure where thekid and Raz are at, maybe one of them will post an update.

Meanwhile, Pilke and osamu are waiting for their next opponents...

Wernerus and I finished our series today.

It was 2-1 for me when we started, our fourth game had been a tie.
We tied again in the fifth game. I won the next one to go up 3-1. That game was close, as was the next which Wernerus won to pull back to 3-2.

The 8th game of our series was the only one that wasn't close. I blocker Wernerus from the west coast and he was unable to finish a big ticket. Final series score 4-2.

The series was well played by Wernerus, all but the last game was very close. He observed that I got longest route in pretty much every game and I think that was probably the difference.

I am so glad that I didn't play the tournament.

15 minutes ago I played an absolute top player for the first time in 2005, and still my hands are ice cold and my heart is bumping unhealthyly. Crying or Very Sad

On one hand, it is a great experience to "fight" against the very best, but I really don't want to see, if my heart attack or my gastritic ulcer comes first. Rolling Eyes

Nevertheless, thank you very much pilke for the unique experience, I will not forget it. Surprised

PS: I muchly enjoy to "watch" the tournament and read the analysis. Thanx goes to Rek for the great idea and the organisation!

My wife stepped on my wireless antenna and broke it. I will be away until at least Monday night, possibly Wednesday. Hopefully I will have received my replacement card and antenna from Dell by then. If you want me to forfeit, I don't really care, if you guys are in a rush. Whatever you want.

Hello Folks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Psycho war is over !!!!!!!!!!!

I could win the finally game and the end result is 4-3 for me.
Sorry nobody of us mades any statistics because we where too nervous to do it.
But any game was very closed, except the last one,but this one was the most critical for both, war against NY.
The result was is very clear, but it wasn't clear that i can win this game.
