Stations on TTR Europe Sun, 22 November 2015 17:06
I am just learning TTR Europe, thanks to the Steam sale, and TTR does not have a tutorial for any board other than the first. So I've looked at the FAQ in the game and I've googled it, but why won't my route complete in the following scenario? I am the green trains. I was trying to complete the ticket from Wien to Paris. Yellow blocked me from Zurich to Paris, so I put a train station at Zurich. That didn't work, so I put a train station at Paris. That also did not work.

You did the exact right thing with the first station. Claiming Zurich will complete your route but the rules for TTR Europe state that the station isn't determined until the end scoring. So even though your ticket says it isn't complete during the game, when it's calculating everything at the end you'll get those points. In your case, you didn't need the second station but I can totally understand why you placed a second one.

The reason for that rule is because let's say you had a ticket that had you going to Paris (like you did in this game) and another ticket having you go to Marceille. You've managed to get to Zurich but both of the other paths are blocked and you're down to only one station. You put your station (like you did) on Zurich. When the game is over, that station can only apply to one track...so you'll have to decide if you want to complete your route to Paris or to Marceille. Maybe one route is only worth 7 points but the other is worth 18, so you pick the 18 point route to complete once the game is over.

I hope this helps! If not just keep asking and we'll get it all worked out.
