BAM - TuS

ATLeague v TuS Tenniskasi 1,5:4,5
One of my most thrilling games with happy-end for me.

1st game VAN-MON-SAULT-NASH (TO-MI discarded)
Wow, nice tix for the start Smile. But colours are difficult. Just 2 lokos. I start with 6 yellow, Andrew 2+4 orange. No white open, I'm short in. I draw for 6 pink. Andrew 4 yellow SEA-CAL. Ok, looks like 22. I cannot play whites, just 3. I draw, Andrew 6 white. I play 6 pink, and 5 black to block his obvious 22, then TO-PI, Andrew 4 green and 6 blue on grey. My only possible connection is via 5 red, but after that, I'm sure Andrew blocks 1er in VAN. So I draw hoping he plays his reds. I play 2 SAULT-TO to play for time and close this small door. But I'm full now and have to start. I have 3 lokos, 2 black, 5 red, 4 blue 4 white and 4 green. While he plays 3 black CHI-PI, I try 1er SEA-VAN, Andrew 2 green NY-PI (make a correction if the order of playing is wrong Andrew). Puh, I'm through, me 2+2 black DUL-WIN, Andrew blocks 4 blue with his lokos. But he cannot have more, he already played 7 lokos now. Me 5 red, 4 blue, while Andrew connects 3 red. Now I have the option to connect with 4 white and finish with 5 green. As he already laid 6 green I try to do my 2nd tic and insure my longest. 2 white CHI-ST.L, Andrew draws, me 2 more white ST.L-NASH, Andrew 1 to KAN, me 5 green, Andrew 2 KAN-OKLA. Ok, no DEN-PI, just SEA-NY and SAULT-OKLA, I win

112:121*

2nd game WIN-HOU, SAULT-OKLA, DUL-ELP
Wow, tixgod loves me. But colours are difficult again, no orange, short in green and lokos (2 lokos in the end). I start with 6 blue on grey, Andrew 5+1 orange, I draw open a 6th white, Andrew 6 yellow, me 6 white, Andrew 6 pink. I draw open greens, Andrew does to, but I have to hope, he doesn't block me. When I have 6 green, I play 6 green and am naked. But Andrew concentrates on his own game, plays 1 to PORT, 2 TO-PI. Twice 3 lokos disappear, so there are just 8 in the game, that gives me hope, that Andrew isn't as flexible as I fear. I try to get as many reds as possible, but I dont find a 7th to my 2 lokos. I didn't have start, so I don't try to overdraw a loko and decide to play 3 oranges SAULT-DUL and 2 DUL-OMA. I connect 4 pink, 4 red and 5 yellow, Andrew 5green + 2 to NASH + 1er to ATL and 6 blue, me 4 black CAL-HEL, Andrew 5 white, I can draw a loko for 5 red and 45, while Andrew lays 3 black NASH down. I'm longer, his 34 are obvious, so I win

*130:133

3rd game
I hope, she's as beautiful as my tix, that the she gives me. The tixgod Smile. VAN-SF, PORT-PHO and CAL-SLC. But the cardsgod seems to be an ugly man. 8 pink, 6 white, I'd prefered yellow, black and blue. When I start to take yellow open, Andrew lays 4+2 yellow. Grrrr, ok, 5+1 blue. I don't like that 1er, but without it will be tough. Andrew SEA-PORT!! Puuhh... ok, 3 red on hand, so SLC-DEN, good position for a 4er HEL-CAL next move. But whats that? Andrew lays 4 green there! Upps, next move, 2 tix can be dead!!! Ok, emergency, 6 white by me. Andrew 4 black. Shit, just 3 lokos on hand. I draw an open card (guess it was green) and find a blue from the deck! Lucky me, Andrew doesn't block, he draws. Me all my 3 lokos and 1 blue WIN-HEL. Then 4 green, while Andrew lays 2 NY-PI. Ok 22! In this situation, the cardsgod doesn't seem to be that ugly in my eyes Smile. To hide my 13, I lay 4 black CAL-SEA and have two possibilities to VAN. Andrew TO-PI. Me 3 pink LA-SANF. I hope, he needs his pink for TO-DUL, if not I have to try via VEGAS or SANFE and PHO, but he surprises me with 3 pink CAL-VAN!!! For longest? I don't believe in 20 with 22. Me 1er SEA-VAN, but the best is: his pink are gone. Andrew connects via 4 white and 3 red, while I play LA-PHO, 5 pink, 3+2 PHO-SANFE-ELP. I win vs SEA-NY, NY-ATL

100:121*

4th game NY-LA, DALL-NY (discarded CHI-SF)

Can be nice, we'll see. But cardsgod plays on his game. Short in black Sad. Don't know, what will be the point this time Smile. Andrew plays 6 yellow, me 6 blue on grey (who needs blue with this combo?) to hide open drawing blacks for the South. Andrew 5+1 white, me 6 orange (yes, the first time, I have them Wink), Andrew draws, me 2 white NY-PI, Andrew 5+1 pink. Hm, a blocker would now play 4 black, but I need my 3 blacks in the South. Will he be astonished and focus on 6 black? But it seems, he has enough to do. Me 3 pink MON-TO to continue my story of East. Andrew TO-PI. I start to play my tix, 2 DALL-LR, Andrew PORT-SEA and 4 black (puh, but perhaps some more in his hand), me 4 yellow 3 white to fulfill DAL-NY. Andrew ATL-NASH. Hm, really 34 again? Or just a distraction for SEA-NY? I draw and find some more lokos, in the end I have 7. I hear the cardsgod laughing and whispering "Trust me, I know what I do!" Smile. Andrew 2 PI-RALEIGH. Hm... Having 7 lokos on hand, I close NY with 2 black NY-WASH. Andrew connects with 2 to ATL and 5 green to SANFR, me 6 black with 5 lokos, having 2 more lokos, 3 red and 5 green on hand, Andrew 4 red, having now just 3 on hand and a hole between CAL and HEL, so me 6 green, hoping he blocks this 1er HOU-DALL, so I lose 1 tic, but he both, but he fills his hand with a loko, I finish 3 red, he has to connect CAL-HEL, me 1er HOU-DALL and he really has 34 again (cardsgod and me have open mouthes) and wins

*128:118

5th game VAN-MON, WIN-LR (HEL-LA)

These tix with start? Looks good, I call the tixgod Gisele Bündchen Smile. But cardsgod is a sphinx and Andrew a f... strong player. I get 5+1 yellow late, having 3 lokos, 3 white, 4 orange, 1 blue on hand. The only 6er I have, are red and black, colours I need somewhere else than for 6 grey. I hope to have some time for those North-6ers and draw, but Andrew is strong-willed. He plays 6 white. Both draw, I get 2 more blue and lay 3+1 blue WIN-HEL, Andrew 6 blue (not sure) on grey. Me 4 green HEL-DEN. Andrew 5+1 black and 4 pink. Me 4 orange CAL-HEL for a loop and for forcing him to go via 5 red to have a chance for longest. He leaves DUL-SAULT open for some moves, and I think about blocking this connection and use all my lokos for 5 black, but I'm not sure, if I will be fast enough after his 6ers and if he needs that connection for his tix. Would have been the better choice I guess now. My next thing I think about, is to block DEN-SANFE, but I risk 4 red DEN-OKLA from him, what kills my 2nd tic, that all costs time and I have many tixpoints to lose. Short time later Andrew closes these options. I connect MON-TO, then 5+1 pink, 1er VAN-SEA, 3er VAN-CAL, 4 red, while Andrew plays 3 SAULT-DUL, 2+2 DEN-SANFE-ELP and 4er SEA-CAL. He already had overdrawn, just can finish with 5 red and lay a 45 with 1er SEA-PORT, he is in front and get longest then. But cardsgod is winking at me. Me 2 OKLA-LR, waiting for his 5 red, but he takes a loko, I finish with 1 green + 2 lokos LR-NO and Andrew 5 red, no time for the 1er. Well, divided longest now, me 12 behind, but 31 in tix points, looks good. Really surprising and I have to admire Andrews nerves. He has highest tix on his route: DUL-ELP and...SEA-LA!!! How can this man wait that long with this 4er there? He had to fear every move, that I close my loop with these 4, if I don't have VAN-MON. Great respect, result is a tie, what gives me the win of this clash. Lucky me, Andrew didn't have 5 red at once in the end, puh....

119:119*

6th game CAL-PHO, KAN-HOU (discarded CHI-NO)

Can be nice, I get 6 yellow and 5+1 orange early. I draw open blacks just for the loop via CAL and to give pressure to decide for Andrew, which blacks he needs. He reacts with 4+2 black. Me 5 white. He thinks a long time, then he plays 2 NY-PI. Ok, biggie. I try to get greens, having just 2 and 2 lokos, but cardsgod is just smiling ugly again. Andrew NY-MON. Hm, is that a block vs my 22? No idea. I have 8 pink, I'm not happy about, but I remember a game before, when I also understood late, what sense this colour made Smile. Andrew plays 2er HOU-NO and 6 green (he having 8, I can search long for them Sad), then 2 PI-RALEIGH. Ok, he really has to connect East with LA. I have no chance against start with my tix vs his biggies. I have 2 lokos, 8 pink, 6 red, 3 blue, 2 yellow, 3 black, 2 green, 1 orange. Ok, with pink short in his hand, let's try to block Smile. 2 green ATL-RALEIGH, Andrew 2 RALEIGH-CHARLESTON, me 2 ATL-CHARLESTON, Andrew 4 pink to MI (shit, hoped to steel him some lokos here), me 6 red. Doesn't look that bad. Andrew decides for 5 blue, with my colours I could have blocked both tracks, but now it's easier for me to block him: 2+2 yellow. Andrew 2 DALL-LR. I have no white, red and yellow, but I am full, have 2 singles, 3 blue and 8 pink. But he just has 4 cards on hand, white and red open. Me single HOU-DALL. I expect him to play 1er ATL-NASH, but he draws red and white, my chance to play my next single to close NASH-ATL. That makes his way very long now, he needs 10 cards with perfect colours (4 red, 3 white, 3 black, with 4 yellow 11 cards, so 44 or 45). As I remember right, Andrew now 3 white. Me 2 blue DUL-OMA, having all my 8 "useless" pink on hand, Andrew draws again, me 4 pink OMA-DEN, Andrew doesn't have enough cards to connect and overdraws, me 4 pink and finish. I win vs ugly SANFR-ATL and MON-MO (3rd VAN-SF, as he told later)

*42:103.

With a last smile the not that ugly cardsgod disappeared in the fog. Sometimes u just see the beauty of somebody with a second view.

All games thrilling, never East vs West or North vs South. No presents. In the end I was luckier with perfect colours. It was great fun. Just in game 4 my plan worked, just in game 4 I had good lokos (7), but just game 4 was the one that I lost. All the games I won, my plan didn't work and I had to improvise. Twice 8 pink, that I found without being happy, brought me the win. Thx Andrew, really great games with lucky end for me. Looking forward to next battles with u.

Carsten

onyx puffin vs Black is Back

completed with TuS Black is Back winning 4-2.

It seemed to me, Most games went the way where the better player of that game won the game. On my part, I made one major error with the 2er from NO-Hou in the last game that cost me the game and a match tie 3-3. Some of my teammates indicate in another game I made a mistake on not playing the 2er block of NO-Hou after he played 6 black 6 green. That one I was guessing he did not really have LA-Mia or LA-NY, reasoning, "He is faking a need of LA-Mia, and I have the 6 red if so." So when he did play the 2, i put in the 6 red, and sure enough, he went to NY.

Anyway, good games and obviously I need to review the importance of the 2er NO-Hou, which as a multi player, I have always known its importance; but in 2 player, it has never seemed as important.

My 6 games match against knockando were training games. I'm supposed to play zapagga tomorrow. That's why I created the game title Allan v knock NOT NC. Also if they were real, I would have taken the option to restart game 3 when knock didn't give me start. Sorry for confusion.

Edit: Allan - Zappaga 4-2
Thx Lolo for a nice series. Very close games..

Drake-Knock today 19:30 or 20:00 (Edit : 20:00)

I hope same results as yesterday for training Razz (even if we can't qualify anymore Sad )

We both wrote "not nc" or "nc training" in name of game, and in ticky and pairings thread I play Drake and you play Pifbat, I don't see where there could have been a confusion Rolling Eyes
