Hello,

Unfortunately you can't, the code on at the end of the rulebook only allow you to register your game to keep track. If you want to play, you need to buy the online version.

Have a nice day !

Way back in the day when the only Online version of Ticket to Ride was a web-based game, the code would allow access to that online game. However, Days of Wonder has now put a lot of money and time into developing iOS, Android, Steam, etc versions of the game so you have to buy them.

Wow that's really disappointing to hear. As someone that's just spent $60 on the boxed version, I feel it's very unreasonable of DOW to not grant the online version of the same game for free.

Unimpressed first time player and DOW website newly registered player. This is doubly misleading as from reading the blurb next to my code it says 'Click the new player button'. But you aren't actually going to be playing anything online unless you splash out more cash.

A massive amount of money and time went into developing the digital versions; they will not be giving that investment away for free.

It would be like going into a store and buying soccer cleats, then going back and expecting them to give you a soccer ball for free.

I can understand your reasoning, however, I too think it's a little over the top.

For example I would expect to be able to play '1' version of the game online having bought the board game.

They would still be able to pay for expansion packs.

It actually makes more sense to me to do this. I like to play both versions, but won't be buying more board versions other than the 1 I already have, as i play more online and to me I don't really see why I need to pay twice to get the same expansion 'in real life' and online.

Let's think about this as literature...

You buy a book at a book store. You love it! It's the best book ever and you decide that you also want it on your e-reader or tablet device so you can read it on vacation. Even though the author and publisher had to do absolutely no additional work to have the book available in a digital format, you will still have to buy the book again in that format.

This is the same kind of thing, but Days of Wonder had to put a ton of work and money into making a very polished digital version.

Hello,

I've seen on the BoardGameGeek site that a new extension card (
Ticket to Ride: Europe – London Kobnhaven) is available.
Could you tell me from where could we by this extension (or obtain it)

You probably refer to Europa 1912 expansion pack, more routes, extra rules.
Bought mine at Amazon.de for 15euros
