COMPLETELY AGREE!!!!
Let's face it - the only fun thing about the chats was the constant complaints about blocking and constant arguments about whether "fair" should actually mean "no blocking" -- certainly not worth the risk posed to our community from the individuals continuously posting horrible things.
1300Fast wrote on Wed, 15 December 2021 15:36 | I see that custom game titles & public chat have been disabled.
Please make these changes permanent!
The custom game titles & public chat features add very little value to the game.
These features are constantly used for x-rated material. This includes pedophilia messages in both game times & chat.
Help keep Ticket to Ride family friendly by retiring these features!

Not sure why the ability to name the game has been disabled, I did not see that being used for inappropriate content, but chat was frequently hijacked by that type of stuff.

I will miss “The Swamp Gas Express”. You knew it was going to be a fun game with the host.

I for one really miss the chat, particularly within games. All we can do is wave at our buddies which is kindof lame, and you don't exactly make new friends by throwing a pretty limited set of emojis into the chat. Lobby chat has also been useful for trying to fill seats in a game, leaving messages for people who are online but in another game, or for people to ask questions about game play, and the age-old debate about blocking is often entertaining. Some folks use lobby chat to socialize too. It isn't particularly hard to put a filthy spammer on ignore, but it would really help if an admin or moderator at DoW/Asmodee would block IP addresses of the disgusting spammy offenders instead of blocking that username and then letting them set up a new account ten minutes after getting banned to continue posting their junk. You may have solved one problem, but you're ruining the social aspect of the online game and that's really a shame.

I agree with Herding cats.
Part of an online game is socializing. That’s now impossible unless within an “invited” private game.
Perhaps let us know if this is going to be a permanent “solution” to end the pervs and pedos from making nasty comments. Is admin still “working on it”? Maybe you will need to give us some more “smiley shortcuts” within the games if that’s the case.
I’ve been playing TTR online for years. I’m really hoping you come up with a better solution. Thanks.

I agree with you Cats, it's getting really old not having chat and I am seeing less game play from players. Fix the IP issue and let's go back to playing the game w/chat and ignore list those ppl who have ruined it for us. ****** I for one really miss the chat, particularly within games. Disabling the chat was a harsh way of eliminating the foul language. Looking back at my list of ignored people All played “0” games. Sure would be nice to enable chat after say 20 or so games.
I miss chatting with the players.
Thanks!

I liked the Title Screen. —Swamp Gas Express- You see the title and know what kind of game it’ll be. Chat was a waste of time. Blocking. Politics. Vaccine. Brandon… I mean Biden. At a minimum I’d say private games should have a chat. But c’mon folks if this is where you find your friends….Really…???

It's way harder than fix some IP issues.
Maybe, the admins could delegate admin' powers to some players who play often to monitor the chat in real time, that would be an acceptable solution.
