There is no way for us and austria to be tied in match wins. They will have 20 if they lose, we have 18 and we play one another so there is no possibility of those numbers being equal. All scenarios would be possible if red tgv loses.

1) I know, that I will step on some people's toes whatever decision we will take.
I read and reread all the posts, and the differential system appears to be the fairest one. I will keep the board the way it is.

2) The timeframe after the Round Robin looks like that:

- End of RR on Sunday 29th as usual
- Official teamranking will be updated on Sunday night
- Monday evening pm of the #1 of each group to the TD with their choice of opponent
- Monday night post of the QF setup
- Wednesday evening (GMT) dealine of the lineups
- Wednesday night: post of the lineups

Ok, I know that I implicitly agreed for the NEW planning of the quarterfinals, BUT I also ask that :
Elric - Sancerre écrit le Wed, 18 October 2006 22:52

Just a little notice : wasn't it envisaged a break week at the end of the Round Robin (like last year) ?

If in Group A, Team #1 is already known (by the way : grats to Team Re-Think for this ranking that they deserved it Thumbs Up ), in Group B, we'll probably know Team #1, ONLY SUNDAY EVENING ! And Red TGV can still finish number 1 Cool

Ok, we can anticipate some things, but not everything... and I won't have any internet access from saturday morning to monday evening (I go to see my old parents, and sorry, but they don't have internet, neither PC... yes, it exists ! Rolling Eyes Very Happy ), and I work tuesday, and I also have a life outside TTR's world (like all of us)...

So, I'd really like to have a little more break than 1 or 2 days !

erps started to ask some very good and necessary questions about the playoffs, and dea answered by giving dates, and then TD and bassie (like me too) implicitly validated that, but the rules said we should have a break week...

Thanks to thadd and/or spudamon, to bassie, and also to all captains involved to answer and, I hope, agree for the break week.

Thanks a lot !

Elric.

Hi

@Elric

No **** today.

You are right and you are wrong Wink

We HAVE a week break because from today we should play "round 8" but we do NOT. So round 7 is ending with sunday, but the quarterfinals are beginning with next thursday (officially monday the 6.).

But you are right, it is too short. I suggest we give time till friday, so we can start the quarterfinals at weekend (i think nobody wishes to play before).

TD give us time to friday to do the choosing of opponent and the lineup!

bye, erps

IF EVERYONE CAN WAIT THAT LONG Rolling Eyes ,I AM SURE THADD WOULD NOT MIND WAITING TILL FRIDAY. IT WOULD SUIT ME BETTER TO DO THE LISTS ON FRIDAY

sure we can wait till Friday

The timeline I gave was based on the same interpretation that erps explains above. But no problem at all to have a longer break.

Hi

Just for the record:

Is this the NEW timeline???

- End of RR on Sunday 29th as usual
- Official teamranking will be updated on Sunday night
- Wednesday evening pm of the #1 of each group to the TD with their choice of opponent
- Wednesdaynight post of the QF setup
- Friday evening (GMT) dealine of the lineups
- Friday night: post of the lineups

????

And how to handle the next rounds? We need 2 weeks for every play-off week because a team can't post the next lineup Wednesday or Friday if their is no opponent?

bye, erps

That sounds nice erps, but we are a little bit in trouble. I know 2 games which aren't played yet! And honestly I want them to be played.

The teams haven't updates their results (I think even round 6 is missing in some cases), so the board remains the one of last week's. I appreciate a lot shamogi's work, it takes a big burden from us, but I want the captains to post officially their results. And we don't take the scores from shamogi's website.

So, I would be happy if you would do your job, captains, so we can do ours.

Btw, get your games played! Latest is as usual tuesday night, if I don't get any explanations beforehand!

Thanks,

thad

P.S Concerning the timeframe, we have to postpone from friday to saturday (lineups).

Two weeks between rounds seems a bit much!! Is there no other solution?

Hi

How was it last year? Was there a week between semi and final?

I agree, two weeks are too long.

a) We can send in the lineup for the next round the moment the matches are decided (3 matches for both teams of next round won) and maybe all teams are quick and the NC is done during 2 weeks

b) End of round sunday. Lineup Monday Night. Begin of next round monday night, end next sunday (basically only 6 days to play one round including one weekend, but quarterfinals have two weekends)

I prefer b), i think every remaining team should take the play-offs serious and play quick. No need for vacancies or other things during this phase Wink

bye, erps
