For teammates who couldn't watch:
Game 1 - My Start: Cal-Phoe, Ssm-Okc, (Ssm-Nash)
I start with 6 orange, white and grey. He starts with 6 black and green. I block 2 to no, potentially giving up longest to block big south. He proceeds west and north. In the end I took a risky move to play for longest without connecting to Phoe. He does not chance phoe-elp, and I win with longest 119-102
Game 2 - His start: I have Winn-Lr, Port-Nash (Bos-Mia), He keeps 3 tickets
He opens picking up 4 black in first two moves, and lays 6 at 22 cards. I sense big south, but with tix and lack of locos, don't act quickly on it. He lays 6 red, so I bite with 2 to no. He plays 3 green, so I lay 2 Okc-LR, which I need. He goes south and lays 4 locos on red. With 3 tickets, I sense NY, but don't have the flexibility to play there after taking 6 white, 6 grey and leaving colors open to connect through port. He lays ny- pit, pit-nash, so I lay the 1 (having already the 3 white) to block and play for longest. He plays up the east coast and I am slow to go out. I block with/lay 3 black to assure longest. He connects to pit, then plays to Bos. I momentarily forget that I threw Bos. Had I remembered I threw boston, I would have blocked to Mon. (He had La-Ny, Ny-Atl, Mon-Atl). I let him through, because with longest I had it. Unfortunately he drew La-Mia to win 133-119.
After a supper break,
Game 3 - My start: Sea-NY, Ssm-Okc, (Dul-Hou)
Nice tix for me. He plays 6 orange, me 6 grey. I am fortunate to grab 6 yellow before he does. He plays 3 red van-cal, 4 yellow cal-hel. Suspect either van-fe or van-mon. I grab 6 white and 4 green. He proceeds 2 to Omaha, 4 pink to den. I complete north ticket assuming he doesn't need 4 red to okc. I finish out with nice colors for longest, and beat his Van-Fe, La-Chi, 129-100
Game 4 - His start: I keep Bos-Mia, Tor-Mia, Win-Hou
He lays 6 black early and draws 2 red. I play 6 red using 3 locos thinking he's heading that way. He draws blue. I don't have enough blue having already used 3 locos, so I lay 4 orange (no-atl), he lays 5 blue. I lay 1 to nash, him 2 red (pitt-ral). I play 4 yellow, him 5 green. I assume la-mia, but not sure of other ticket. He completes la-mia going through 5 yellow +2+2, and I work on completing tix via top. He lays Cal-Hel, Hel-Den, Den-Fe. He is short cards to connect (but I'm not sure if it's van-fe or cal-phoe). It's cal-phoe but I'm able to secure longest (by blocking la-phoe) knowing how he has to pick up cards. I end early so he can only connect via 2 (and not 3). I win 126-108.
Game 5 - My Start: Sea-Ny, Den-Pit (win-Hou)
Again, nice tickets for me, but I get a little overconfident and let him open with 6 yellow (3 loco), and 6 white (1 loco). I take 6 orange, but know my way to Seattle is in trouble. I claim 6 grey, 4 green to den, and then take 1 from sea-port, half blocking a big ticket for him, half knowing that may be my better way to connect to Seattle. He takes 6 purple (2 loco). I take ny-den, half hoping he thinks I am blocking his potential sea-ny. He lays tor-pit. I have black for the top, limited blue (still needing to connect to port), and red/pink to connect slc to either hel or den. I take pit-chi, he blocks 3 red. I use my blue to Omaha, giving up both the chance to lay 6 blue or connecting to ny up north with blue (via dul-ssm, and 5 black). He plays 2 stl-lr. (giving away winn-lr) and he can either connect via 2 (Chicago) or 5 green (pitt). I connect with 2 (om-dul). I see he is starting to get low on cards, play 3 red den-slc, forcing his 6 blue.
I still have 4+4 up top to get to seattle, or 5 +5 to get to Portland. He plays his 5 green (port-sf) to block. At this stage, he only has 4 cards left. I know he can't connect to LR with 5 green, I lay 4 up top, knowing if he has a set of 4 to block sea-cal, he won't complete either ticket. Knowing I completed Den-Pit, and can take longest (with 5 white). He does block up top, so I take 5 white and longest by 1. If he had Winn-Lr, Chi-No, he wins by 1. But playing 6 yellow so early (w/3 locos), I hope it is port-nash. It is Port-Nash, Winn-Lr, so I win 73-64.
Game 6 - His start: I have La-Chi, Port-Phoe (threw Van-Mon)
I like my tickets, but have severe lack of locos (1). He plays 6 orange, white, pink, and grey. Long story short, he has crappy tix (ssm-okc, ssm-nash), but 11 locos. I am able to draw at the end for a win, but draw don't hit the first time (take a -10), and lose 93-111. Can't overcome start and 11 locos for him.
ATLeague: 4 - nicolaus21: 2

NC2014 Knockout: QF Results
|
Tue, 25 November 2014 17:58

|
 |
UEG vs AAA
Schwen vs Angel
1:5
first 3 games very interesting with 3 breaks.
1) Sea-LA + LA-Chi vs his Van-Mon + Winni-Little. Only 3 locos, 5 orange and 3 yellow for me. I start 6 orange, he 6 grey and 6 white. I take open yellow, he doesn't plays it and after that it was always a win
2) I forgot this, but Sven played it exceptionally well!
3) no start with Mon-Atl + Mon-NO vs his Winni-Little + Tor-Mia.
After my start with 6 orange on grey and 6 pink there was no real way for him to win
next 3 games very easy wins for me, no chance for Sven:
4) start with Cal-SLC + Hel-LA with 7 locos and 9 yellow vs. his Port-Nash + SSM-Nash. Accidentally, I blocked him
5) no start with Van-Mon + Tor-Mia vs his 3 ticks (4+5+8 Dul-Hou).
Was able to close the game in 8 (!) turns, getting Van-Mon and 104 points on the board
(but only a win, because his ticks were too cheap)
6) Dul-ElP + SSM-Okl vs his Winni-Little + ?.
I almost got the perfect route and closed the game in 9 turns

UEG Volleytom - AAA_dea1
4:2
1) Start Tom
Cal-SLC, SSM-Okl (rejected Chi-Fe, would anyone keep different ticks?)
Ticks not so bad, but Tom gets 6 orange, yellow and white before I have an idea what these colors look like.
I get 6 pink, grey and play 6 blue after his 1 to po, then decide to forget SSM-Okl and longest and go for fast finish blocking Phe (which he doesn't have, as usual) on the way.
Almost enough, he completes his win-lr on his last move and wins together with sea-la.
Seems like there should be something possible against his ticks, maybe I'll find it later.
2)
Sea-NY, Tor-Mia (SF-Atl)
This one for me vs Po-Phe,Chi-NO
3)
Cal-SLC, Dul-Hou (again rejected Chi-Fe, would anyone keep different ticks?)
Tom opens 6 black, followed by 5 yellow after my 6 green.
Blocking the way East doesn't hurt him with his Cal-Phe, Den-EP.
He gets 11 White, I'm way too slow for anything useful.
4)
Bos-Mia, Mon-NO (SF-Atl)
Luckily Tom is slow so the classic route with 6 pink+red, 5 black+blue via Chicago is good enough for longest and the win vs Po-Nash, Dul-Hou.
5)
SF-Atl, Tor-Mia (guess what ... rejected Chi-Fe)
Too slow and too Little trackpoints vs Van-Mon and SSM-Nash (not completed)
6)
LA-Chi, Den-Pitt (Tor-Mia)
Tom starts with orange, I grill my only 3 locos on black.
5 white from Tom ... brrrrrrr ...
Having 9 green I build a loop LA-Phe-EP but Tom is too fast and gets too many 6's, so no chance against Cal-SLC, Po-Phe.
Grats Tom for the match, well played!
Thx Captain Tom + UEG for your Fairness, I'm very sorry that Muddaihrdeppertersohn messed this up for you.

I read the above, but I am trying to understand the ruling here.
Is there a score attached to the forfeit? For the first 3 matches are scored 4-2, 1-5, 4-2, in UEG favor.
Also, did, or maybe I should ask, does UEG get an opportunity to substitute since Mudda has not been available? Is that even an option, since time paramaters set Friday deadline?
But if Friday is true deadline, how come Whitetrain game is allowed 2 days later.
Just trying to understand the rulings here.

I am not involved but only my opinion:
with the forfeit of Mudda vs Lucullupus we have UEG-AAA 2-2
after the 3 matches 4-2 1-5 4-2 the balance of games in 9-9
so you can cosider the forfeit 1-0,2-0 or 6-0... nothing changes...
AAA would have in any case more games win.

they asked before and it was agreed on 20th of november (because of hard scheduling between the 2 players probably).
And in case of mudda-lupo it seems different if you read the forum. (2 missed rendez-vous from mudda).
Just reading the forum is enough to understand

TuS WhiteTrain - SOJA Ishamael 2-4
I messed up the time and was an hour late
Apologies to all who planned to watch and especially Felix.
Still he was so nice to play the match anyway, many thanks.
110*-114 with east tickets (Mon-NO, NY-Atl) without start is never nice, but I had nice colours and was lucky Felix had Sea-NY and that I could make it sufficiently difficult for him so I could get longest.
124*-82 again start for Felix due to a misclick. Kan-Hou and NY-Atl this time, I tried to block his 3 mid tickets but that didn't work.
124-128* LA-Mia and SF-Atl, great combo but made difficult after Felix played SF-LA, I was lucky to connect anyway and win by a few.
43-111* Win-LR+Chi-NO. Again Sea-NY for Felix and again I was in his way and could even block it.
111*-114 both mid tickets (Hel-LA and SSM-Okl vs his Van-SF and Sea-LA) and a classical fight for longest which I managed to win.
108-77* LA-NY and Sea-NY after 6 orange and yellow for Felix and 6 grey and white for me, Felix played Cal-Sea and that was more or less the end.
As Mr Bean noted NY-Sea lost 3 times this match.
Thanks Felix for the games.

Then he doesn't write to Lucullupus, then he doesn't show up and doesn't write to Luculupus, Volleytom or me and reschedules at the last moment. 2) You got a warning from TD because of your bad scheduling during three matches before our clash. Didnt you read that?
3) Cheaters and morons? You dont belong to the cheater group!
4) Good for you to have a nice holiday, but it is normal standard to check before the match, whether it is possible to play ttr there or not - during the match it is too late.
5) After that incident I didnt hear anything from you for five days, no excuse, nothing.
6) Then on Thursday (one day before deadline) you offered me to play on that day or on Friday (simultaneous to Dea's match against Volleytom). I had to postpone another appointment, but I could manage that, so I agreed to play on Thursday.
7) Again you didnt appear. Do you know how annoying it is, to spend two evenings at home, totally senseless, during the pre-Christmas period, where everybody has a lot of appointments?
At least everybody, who has a lot of friends, maybe this is not such a big problem for you.
8.) So, your captain, who was informed about all of our correspondence, was upset about your misbehavior as well and decided to concede our match and therefore the clash.
9) Yes, you wrote a pm half an hour before the planned starting time of the match (8.30 pm), just that you couldnt come, no excuse again.
10) On friday you wrote a "last pm", yes, again without an excuse, where you offered me to play on the last evening. This pm I didnt reply, correct, but why should I? All decisions were made, the clash was over and I was upset about your misbehavior. There was no need for me to reply, no need to waste any word for you.
11) Truckerteller makes a very good job, thanks a lot! And also Volleytom made the right decision, not an easy one. I hope, Tom, you will have a better team without morons next year, then the sun will shine for UEG again!
